MarilynMonroeFan10 Columbus, Ohio USA Created Wed 24th Feb '10 10:13 (GMT)Review: Marilyn Monroe: Let's Make Love 1960 UK Phillips pre I was thrilled to get this beautiful, mint UK pressing from EIL! I was surprised to see a 50 year old album in such a lovely condition. The soundtrack has been issued in the states on Cd with bonus tracks. I was surprised to find that the title track with Monroe doing the majority of the lead vocals was not featured on the vinyl release! The Cd version has the vocals way up front, where on the vinyl the vocals have a background echo that is very noticeable. If I ever have the extra cash, I may buy from EIL again. My first experience with them was wonderful, got the record very quickly![reply to this topic ]
Re: MARILYN MONROE Let's Make Love (Rare 1960 UK 9-track
'microgroove' mono LP on a 'rough' textured black & silver Philips
label, the original soundtrack recording to the motion picture with
songs by Sammy Cahn, Jimmy Van Heusen and Cole Porter, as
arranged by Lionel Newman. Despite a 1'' seam split to the spine, the
front laminated flipback picture sleeve is otherwise excellent along
with the vinyl - a great Monroe collectable! BBL7414) View this product

I wonder why this song hasn't done it to a regular release, it's very good and Vince's mix is nice too.[reply to this topic ]

james_amber Portsmouth, Hampshire UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 10th Feb '10 18:20 (GMT)Review: Stone Roses - The Stone Roses [Collectors Edition] This is the ultimate tribute to one my favourite albums ever. I used to listen to a tape of this as I walked to college every day (Pills Thrills and Bellyaches was on the other side) and have since bought this album on Vinyl and CD along with Made of Stone and most of the other Roses releases, I even got to see them play the Brighton Centre after Reni had left but before they totally imploded after John left, which almost made up for them missing Glastonbury the summer before. This album reminds me of growing up and reinvigorated my love for guitars after a few summers of bleeps and repetitive beats. This re-mastered homage is packed full of extras and beautifully packaged and I mean beautifully. Well worth every penny spent.[reply to this topic ]

MiMi Fan UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 10th Feb '10 08:47 (GMT)Great album in great condition. I'm not a great fan of MM's German work, so I bought this gem because of the French tracks, Adieu Je T'aime being the main reason. If anything, eil.com's description of the condition of the album and its lp-sized 'booklet' biography (a beautifully made book complete with tissue-seperation sheets!) were an understatement and I was very pleasantly stunned when it arrived. Every little mark or knick on the cover was mentioned in the product description, which impressed me greatly. The vinyl is still top quality and I'm a happy customer! Holding this reminded me how in days gone by vinyl records felt so substantial, like you had really bought something special. It's sad that in the modern era there's no chance of buying a cd or mp3 with this kind of care put into it. I'm glad to own this. Cheers eil, I'll be back....[reply to this topic ]

wonderful collection of tracks from the French singer, sung in both
French and German. Includes Raconte-moi La Mer, Aber Dich Vergeß

great copy of this collection) View this product
MiMi Fan UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 10th Feb '10 08:39 (GMT) Edited Wed 10th Feb '10 08:41 (GMT) Edited 2 times Another hard to find album, utterly superb! Yet again eil.com supply a vinyl album to me in superb condition, and I am delighted with it. The lp itself is from 1967 or thereabouts and is one of MM's many great recordings. This has the magnificent Je Ne Suis Rien Sans Toi and actually all the rest are up there as well. Find her on YouTube, you will not be disappointed. Hopefully more of her recordings will appear on the website, because the reviews by eil.com are once again honest and trustworthy, which cannot be said of all dealers.[reply to this topic ]

MiMi Fan UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 10th Feb '10 08:34 (GMT) Edited Wed 10th Feb '10 09:06 (GMT)Review: I stumbled across eil.com while searching the net for anything by the sublime Mireille Mathieu. Just about nothing of hers is available, other than a few German cd's - which leaves her huge French catalogue surprisingly absent form the face of the planet. I have no idea why. I was wary of buying vinyl because I have had burned fingers in the past from dealers who claim things which are not even close to reality, but I took a chance and am glad to have done so. I found eil.com were honest with their description for the vinyl because it looks like it was made last week, not 1967! Even the cover is very, very good indeed. The lp inner sleeve is the original as well! It's covered in adverts for hits and misses of the day. Eil.com even wrapped the album in a sealed plastic sleeve and the packaging was very secure indeed. I am a happy customer and will not hesitate to use the company again.... and again... and again...[reply to this topic ]
