bruce AUSTRALIA Created Sat 10th Jun '17 00:01 (GMT)Live single of Coming Up on Columbia label This single was actually added to the McCartney II album in America because the live version charted there and was not on the album. Therefore they included a 1 sided 33 1/3 7" single so they could sell it as 'includes the hit single' and sell more copies.[reply to this topic ]

ogam5 Easthampton, MA USA Created Sun 23rd Apr '17 07:16 (GMT)bruce AUSTRALIA Created Wed 19th Apr '17 22:42 (GMT)Double Fantasy - Australian Geffen pressisng. There are 2 very distinct pressings of Double Fantasy without going into label and sleeve variations. First (early) pressings come on 'Stirling' stampers hand written details as almost all other countryies with AUS in the run out groove to identify Australia. Upon hearing of John's death, local Warner Brothers grabbed the master tape for making cassettes, ran that to the cutting studio and cut extra stampers for local use. These are identified by having stamped matrix in the run out groove. There are also several label and sleeve differences but these 2 stamper differences are the most identifiable.[reply to this topic ]

bruce AUSTRALIA Created Tue 17th Jan '17 21:18 (GMT)The Beatles Collection (Australia) Hi guys, your chronology is slightly out on this product. In Nov 1978 Australia used the UK manufactured flip top box with Australian albums in it. When we ran out of stock of this box, it was still very popular, so locally made boxes where the entire lid lifted off were used, these were the blue ones you mentioned (released April 1979). There are variations in texture of the fabric on the box and some came with and others without the album titles on the rear of the box. This GOLD covered one was issued to celebrate that fact that the BLUE box had sold sufficient copies to be awarded a 'Gold Record' so that's why it's covered with gold coloured fabric. This Gold issue came out in late 81 or early 82. beatlesinfo@Hotmail.com[reply to this topic ]
Re: THE BEATLES The Beatles Collection (Rare circa 1982 Australian
Thirteen vinyl LP box set, with each album in their own original issue
sleeve with all relevant inserts, housed within a high quality black text
on Gold leaf 12"
textured box which was unique to Australia. This was issued to
celebrate that fact that the original blue box edition had sold sufficient
copies to be awarded a 'Gold Record', complete with the indivially
numbered certificate.Amazingly, the box on this example shows
minimal wear with fully intact gold covering and just a small amount of
foxing, whilst the vinyl shows very little evidence of play. A fantastic
example of thie rare version of this amazing set!
