Not one of the best......... ...Heep albums, but they never really wqent 'commercial' with this one. Sure, it's no Magician's Birthday, but the arrangements and overall music is just fine.

2 different copies of Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs I Hello everyone! I have 2 copies of Layla An Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek And The Dominos that I can't seem to find any info on them. Here's what I have:
The first copy is actually signed by Eric Clapton. The odd thing is the first album has side 1 on the front and side 4 on the back. Record 1 Label-RSO Side 1 matrix- RS-2-3801-DS-HRM STERLING B-1 Side 4 matrix- RS-2-3801-DS-HRM STERLING B-1 Record 2 Side 2 matrix- RS-2-3901-BS-HRM STERLING B-1 Side 3 matrix- RS-2-3801-CS-HRM STERLING B-2
The second copy is odd because the actual label on the album says Layla Derek And The Dominos instead of Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs. Record 1 Label RSO Side 1 matrix- RS-2-3801-AS-CMP1 PRC-C Side 2 matrix- RS-2-3801-BS-CMP1 PRC-C Record 2 Side 3 matrix- RS-2-3801-CS-CMP1 PRC-C Side 4 matrix- RS-2-3801-DS-CMP4 PRC-C

Connoisseur's Sinatra - Australian version The Australian World Record Club release of “The Connoisseur's Sinatra†is the release of a of a somewhat scarce item turning out to be a much rarer item.
The manager of the WRC asked the Sinatra Society of Australia to suggest some releases that might be of interest to Sinatra collectors. Among the suggestions given was the release of the aforementioned album.
Apparently WRC submitted its request for the songs on the original release to EMI and these were duly supplied. However one song “Day In, Day Out†was not the version on the original album, but was in fact an uptempo version recorded on December 22, 1958. The slower version was recorded on January 3, 1954 and prior to this date had never appeared in LP format.
As mentioned in the SSA’s newsletter of March/April 1978, “Most Sinatra collectors have a weakness for the oddity – which this album is. Hence we could have the paradoxical situation of a record that should not have seen the light of day, enjoying enhanced sales.â€

Omega Auctions June 7th Hi all-
I've been recommended a look at this, Omega Auctions (based in Stockport, Manchester) are holding a Rolling Stones auction on June 7th. Some of the lots look pretty interesting - they've got the original artwork for Beggars Banquet, a leather jacket owned and worn by Ron Wood (tempting, as the estimate is surprisingly low), as well a some slightly cheaper general vinyl, photographs, autographs etc etc.
For any more prog rock fans you'll see they're also selling a load of stage costumes of Chris Squire's / YES from the 70s on the same day, and are holding a rare and collectable vinyl auction on the next day (Saturday June 8th)

ETERNAL Stay (Scarce US A/C Mix pink promo CD, DPRO-19830) I have been searching for this mix of Eternal's "Stay" for quite some time now and I finally found a listing for it on eil.com! Unfortunately, there are no copies available at this time... It's the version I use to hear on the radio when the song was popular and I love it so much better than the Album Version/7" Mix (They sound like the same mix). Hopefully I come across it soon. Maybe someone on this site can help....

Vintage Sinatra (Australian Releases) I see the 5 lps issued by the Sinatra Society of Australia have found their way to eil. Volume 1 of the series is the rarest of the issues with only 200 being pressed. Volume 2 (the 1959 Melbourne concert) had 600 issued. Incidentaly, the record labels on this release were incorrectly applied and on every copy side 1 is actually side 2 and the side 2 label is actually side 1. Volumes 3 and 4 were of 400 issues each and the fifth release (the two Bing Crosby shows with Sinatra as a guest) had 600 copies pressed. Incidentally, the Jicko label "re-issued" volumes 1, 3 and 4 but their numbering carried no similarity to the original Society issues.

Pink Floyd with The Wall are PSYCHEDELIC NO-MORE...... Poor Syd was BRUTALLY kicked out of Floyd and that is when psychedelic Floydianism ENDED forever. Let's face it, Syd would NEVER...and I repeat NEVER have written Another brick in the wall. See Emily play and Arnold Layne are NO MATCH for any silly tune on that wimpy HIGHLY OVERRATED album called The Wall. ROCK ON SYD (RIP:(:()
