The Machman East Grinstead, West Sussex UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 21st Sep '10 12:59 (GMT)Review Hi NickW - I've seen your comment on the condition of the sealed sleeve. I work in the print & design industry, so can advise you that album covers used to be produced with a gloss or U/V varnish finish to them. Whilst this looks great, over time the varnish will naturally harden. Without care, it will fray or crack particularly on fold edges. Unfortunately, when a product is also sealed in cellophane, over time the varnishes will stick to this. I collect a great deal of old vinyl & as you, prefer to source mint copies if can. However, I'm always wary of sealed copies due to the detrimental effects cellophane & polythene can have on a cover. I tend to store my vinyl in PVC sleeves for protection, but I regularly remove them from these to let the air get to them. Judging by the fact that newer & present day releases have covers that are produced on textured or uncoated cards, it seems the record industry has finally got wise to the effects that cellophane has on ruining the covers! Hope this is of use.[reply to this topic ]

The Machman East Grinstead, West Sussex UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 21st Sep '10 08:55 (GMT)The Classic P.I.L. Album If John Lydon (as he had now reverted back to) hadn't walked out on the pistols, then First Issue gives a possible indication into the next direction of the Pistols music. Unfortunately, Malcolm McLaren had already done enough damage to the Pistols to the point where the implosion had begun (could be argued that it began when Matlock went). Anyway, First Issue is a fabulous album just for the fact that it contains the immortal self-titled Public Image track. Such an influential record in it's own right, there are a couple more tracks on this album that stand up with this. I think you need to have been around at the time to really relate to the music however as the passing years have had a tendency to make some of the songs laboured. That said though, the album art is a joy, particularly as the inner included here is the original picture one... Each face of both the outer & inner sleeves is a cover in it's own right. Fabulous copy & excellent condition. Most chuffed![reply to this topic ]

geoff b rocky hill, ct USA Created Thu 16th Sep '10 03:42 (GMT)kingsmen first album i wonder how many people realize that the KINGSAMEN'S debut lp waws on the usa charts for 102 weeks....quite an accomplishment for any band, let alone one with a monster hit as 'louie, louie'. lengthy stays on the charts is common plae as dark side of the moon has been on the chrts for almost 11 decades, sop it would seem. anyway, the first album by the KINGSMEN was actually recorded lie/in person... at a club in oregon. only 'louie, ouie' was the albums only song NOT recorded 'live. plus the kingsmen received a gold record for the album... the gold record was presented to the band in 1965 by angie dickinson, later married to burtbacharach, who wrote songs for kingsmen fellow scepter/wand artist: dionne warwick..... check it out... an $85.00 recording investment, produces a gold album on the charts for 2 years.... pretty wild for the times.... thanks for listening... geoff k.[reply to this topic ]

It is the version that is on the 'Please Please Me' album." I have yet to find a black label 1960's pressing that doesn't have the Ringo version and '1N' matrix. dimitrus Moscow, Russia RUSSIA Created Mon 13th Sep '10 16:17 (GMT) Edited Mon 13th Sep '10 16:19 (GMT)Madonna "Give it 2 me" (single) Madonna with her Beautiful high voice did it again! Yes, maybe some "glass wearing, academic and etc. public" listeners can give advice for Madonna to be more sophisticated in vocal sometimes, and not to be so many-many teenage orientation in songs sometimes, but no one , even them, will criticize Madonna in positive vibrations and don`t stopping running energy of real high-quality dance (maybe disco) music! So thats the way this artist go - it is to be Five star Pop star for generation Next audience and for everyone who is still alive. Icon of Hollywood ,she do a perfect american pop, she (very-very often ) strikes a very big social impulse,so this record is very and and very stylish cover design (Only think about good looking vinyl record with queen of dance music , what a brilliant it should be !). On this single, she did a great style, a great vocal , social and drive energy dance-disco music! And this is not a stupid song at all, this song is about a chances we take or not to takes in our life. "GIVE IT 2 ME" have a very modern name, its look like a good joke to change word "Two" on number"2". Song is a single to the album "Hard Candy".Song starts from ,maybe,"little stupid" but so "candy" sound, but if you listen this song more then first ten seconds : you will not be upset! So be ready for dance , even if you are in the basement, because of the dance energy is in the air when you listen "Give it 2 me" (Of course, it must be said, that Madonna has her own style , which is very different from ABBA , for example. This is not like "Nina , Pretty balerina" at all.) But be patient, no one can top you till you are under the spell of Madonna music. So this single is great thing for Madonna fans and to start listen her music so.Speaking in two words: five stars![reply to this topic ]
