I have a Rolling Stones single that I picked up recently. The record is the Rolling Stones: Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow? b/w Who's Driving Your Plane. The catalogue number is Decca F.12497 which is the same as the standard UK issue. The label on this copy is black (rather than the usual dark blue) with the usual boxed Decca logo and it has printed on it "Made In England". The layout of the label text is slightly different to the standard issue too and it also has different matrix numbers in the run-off grooves. The matrix numbers are XDR-38957-T1-1C (A-side) and XDR-38958-T1-1C (B-side), whereas the standard blue labelled UK copy which I have has the numbers :XDR-38957-T1-2C and XDR-38958-T1-2C. My first thoughts after listening to the record a couple of times was that the mix sounds slightly different - I'd say it sounded a bit rougher with the vocals not quite so prominent. The only other Stones singles I've come across with black labels from the UK are early export copies, which have the AT prefix matrix number, could you possibly shed any light on this? I can send you scans if you would like. Thanks Gary[reply to this topic ]

bedtookfire Ottawa, Ontario CANADA Created Mon 9th Jul '07 17:37 (GMT)Trying to Identify Rare Poster -- Please Help!! I purchased a Smiths poster on eBay a few years back and i'll be darned if i can find any information about it. I asked the seller about it and he said he had bought it at a flea market. Anyway, it is bright yellow and features a bunch of black and white pictures (Hatfull of Hollow era) scattered all over it like a collage. They are fairly large, so there's maybe 5 or 6 in total. On the left hand side in particular is a picture of Morrissey in concert holding up some Gladiolas like a torch. I think The Smiths are printed in big bold letters across the top of the poster. There is no copyright stamp anywhere on it. Anyway, if any of you could provide some information about this, i would be much obliged. And sorry i can't provide a picture. The camera is busted. Thanks![reply to this topic ]

Foo Fighters have announced the details for their forthcoming new album, which will be released in late September on Roswell/RCA.'Echoes, Silence, Patience And Grace' is the band's sixth studio release and marks the first time they have worked with producer Gil Norton since 1997's double platinum 'The Colour And The Shape', which is reissued this week as a remastered 10th anniversary deluxe edition featuring six bonus tracks.
T he band has kept busy since its previous studio effort, the double disc 'In Your Honour', which was released in June 2005, spending the remainder of 2005 headlining arenas the world over on their biggest selling tour to date.
2 006 included an intimate theater tour showcasing material from In Your Honor's quieter second disc alongside unique acoustic based arrangements of favorites from the entire Foo Fighters canon, as documented on the live CD and DVD releases 'Skin And Bones'.
T hey also found time to play to the largest British concert audience of 2006, when they headlined London's Hyde Park for a crowd of 85,000 people. T he Foo's also rocked London's Live Earth concert on July 7th at Wembley Stadium, and are also confirmed to headline a select batch UK festivals in August.

T he latest 7" release from the Regal Singles Club has to be one of the most exciting musical unions of recent times. The mere thought of rock legend Paul Weller and guitar genius Graham Coxon joining forces to write and record together couldn’t fail to excite even the most cynical of music fans. Well they’ve done it!B oth artists really need no introduction. Since his days as front-man of The Jam and Style Council, Paul Weller has carved out an incredibly successful solo career. Graham Coxon has also had an illustrious and successful solo career since he left Blur several years ago.T alking about the collaboration, Graham said 'As a long time admirer of Paul I never dared imagine getting a chance to work with him so I was bricking it when we first met...but he is an absolute gent and a shockingly great singer and musician. It’s been a total pleasure' . Paul returned the compliment saying 'I’ve always been a big fan of Grahams and love his work so it was exciting for me to work on something new with him'. L ead track 'This Old Town' is a Coxon/Weller collaboration. 'Each New Morning' is a Graham Coxon composition, while 'Black River' was written by Paul Weller. All tracks were produced by the duo and engineered by Charles Rees. Drumming on 'This Old Town' courtesy of Zak Starkey.

The most amazing thing that was never followed up is that when the band played at the Blitz Club Midge Ure turned up as he was afriend of Virginia's in some family relationship. When you went into the club you got a floppy disc with "If I Was on" one side. It was writen by Kenny. Midge then recorded it and it turned out to be his life saver he never had a number 1 other than this and he even called his book If I was! Kenny now lives in Hong Kong and doesn't play in bands anymore. He was also in a band called the Mono's the toured with The tourists before they became the Eurythmics. He also recorded a single track with Annie Lennox called Red Moon. I have a copy of this track.[reply to this topic ]

Simon Wright - UK Chart Product & Imports UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 4th Jul '07 15:00 (GMT) Edited Wed 4th Jul '07 15:01 (GMT) Edited 2 times beautiful BEE GEES box arrived TODAY...
THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1968-1967
This is the definitive collection of the five-piece Bee Gees line up that rocketed to fame in the late 1960's!Singing siblings Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb along with Australian instrumentalists Vince Melouney and Colin Petersen.
The quintet's albums 'Bee Gees 1st', 'Horizontal' and 'Idea' have been brilliantly revitalized with remastered LPs of stereo and mono mixes of each title paired with second discs of rare and previously unreleased recordings from the period [the first time The Bee Gees have opened their vaults for extensive archival exploration!] along with many beautiful photos from the era, the accompanying booklets in this box set feature insightful liner notes by '60s sage Andrew Sandoval, including extensive new interviews with Barry and Robin on their career and music.
The Bee Gees' phenomenal success in the 1970's often obscures the fact that by the time the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack redefined R&B dance music, the trio already had more than 10 albums and a string of worldwide hits under their belts. 'The Studio Albums 1967-1968'[the initial installment of the first-ever catalog upgrade for the group] shows that The Brothers Gibb possessed the musical Midas touch from the very beginning.
BOX SET NOTES:
· Strictly Limited Edition
· Original album plus rare & unreleased tracks from the Bee Gees' tape vaults.
· In-depth liner notes featuring brand new interviews from Barry and Robin Gibb.
· 36-page booklet featuring rare and previously unseen photos.
· Deluxe packaging featuring three gatefold jackets.
· 180gram High Quality vinyl pressed at RTI.
· Mastered by Kevin Gray at AcousTech Mastering.

promotional poster is printed in just three colours - red, black and

faceless cartoon drawing person in a window below a picture of the

not be visible. A truly stunning 27 year example of poster art)View this product
