Re: THE SMITHS This Charming Man (Rare original 1983 UK Rough Trade
label 2-track 7" vinyl single which also includes 'Jeane'. This was quickly
replaced as Morrissey insisted on a push out centre and this edition
had a solid centre, plus it has the all important 'Glad Hips Music Limited'
credit with Manchester address on the reverse of the sleeve. Housed in
the familar 'The Smiths' titled glossy picture sleeve depicting Jean
Marais from Cocteau's film 'ORPHEE' RT136) View this product

addler Melbourne, Victoria AUSTRALIA Created Sat 2nd Oct '10 10:01 (GMT)Question to EIL: I own a mint version of this & have not been able to see it anywhere. Indeed, after searching the net for hour & 1/2, your site was the only mention of this I have seen. I have been able to establish that "Record Collector" magazine, issue "RC 159" in 1992 valued this as over 65 pounds back then and that wasnt for a mint condition. When they did a recent Moz/Smiths issue in late 2009, this wasn't even mentioned in their "rareities/collectors" part of the edition, suggesting that its almost impossible to get. 2 things, what is it worth these days and why is it so rare. I have been told that it was quickly pulled after the band found out that Moz had allowed his image to be used without the rest of the band, and also b/c it has Craig Gannon as listed as "2nd guitar" on the back. Any news u could tell me would be great. Adam[reply to this topic ]

bedtookfire Ottawa, Ontario CANADA Created Mon 9th Jul '07 17:37 (GMT)Trying to Identify Rare Poster -- Please Help!! I purchased a Smiths poster on eBay a few years back and i'll be darned if i can find any information about it. I asked the seller about it and he said he had bought it at a flea market. Anyway, it is bright yellow and features a bunch of black and white pictures (Hatfull of Hollow era) scattered all over it like a collage. They are fairly large, so there's maybe 5 or 6 in total. On the left hand side in particular is a picture of Morrissey in concert holding up some Gladiolas like a torch. I think The Smiths are printed in big bold letters across the top of the poster. There is no copyright stamp anywhere on it. Anyway, if any of you could provide some information about this, i would be much obliged. And sorry i can't provide a picture. The camera is busted. Thanks![reply to this topic ]

Re: THE SMITHS William It Was Really Nothing (Very scarce 1987
UK Rough Trade 7" vinyl single with intact four prong centre,
also including How Soon Is Now. The song is popularly believed
to have been written by Morrissey about his friend Billy
Mackenzie, lead singer of The Associates, with whom he was
rumoured to be romantically linked. Housed in a mauve tinted
picture sleeve featuring Billie Whitelaw as Lottie from the 1968
movie 'Charlie Bubbles', directed by Albert Finney. This issuehas

Re: THE SMITHS Still Ill (UK original pair of metal stampers for the A and
B sides of their rare 12" single. Stampers are created from the
mothers, and are negative - they have ridges where the final disc has
grooves - usually a maximum of 6 sets are created from a single
mother, before being destroyed, and each stamper has a limited
lifespan, sometimes just 1000 copies of a record may be pressed
before a new stamper is used. This rare set also comes complete with
a pair of finished record labels. The ultimate Smiths collectable!)View this product
