Saul Watson - Product Promotion UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 25th Jul '07 18:07 (GMT) Edited Wed 25th Jul '07 18:10 (GMT) Edited 2 times Rock News Don Arden , the legendary "Mr Big" of the record industry died on Saturday July 21 at the age of 81.
Born Harry Levy the Manchester lad made good as a music manager/agent and is renowned for building the careers of rock legends such as Gene Vincent, the Small Faces, Electric Light Orchestra and Black Sabbath.
His notorious business methods earned him the title "The Al Capone of Pop" following an incident in 1966 with a rival manager, Robert Stigwood who made the mistake of trying to tempt the Small Faces to work with him instead. So the story goes, Arden paid Stigwood a visit at his Cavendiah Square and with help from the "heavies" threatened to throw Stigwood off the balcony unless he ceased chasing his acts.
He is of course also know as father to Ozzy's wife Sharon. In 1982 when they married Arden gave her Ozzy's Osbourne's management contract as a wedding present. The father / daughter relationship went sour after Sharon tried to sign Ozzy to a new label and Arden sued his daughter !
G N' R Reunion: With the 20th anniversary of Guns n' Roses iconic debut classic Appetite For Destruction around the corner, everyone is speculating an anticipated reunion of the original Guns lineup
According to GuitarWorld.com, original drummer Steven Adler had said he will definitely be making an appearance at the album bash scheduled for 28th July at the Key Club in Los Angeles. GuitarWorld quotes Adler as saying "I'll be down there with my band and Slash (guitars), Izzy (Stradlin', guitars) and Duff (McKagan, bass) will be there too. It's gonna be great."
No mention of Axl then? There's a surprise! However he Adler predicts a full reunion eventually..."Axl and I spoke to each other in Las Vegas recently, and I know there's a chance. It's just too big. Whatever the Stones make when they play, we'd triple it. It'd be ridiculous not to do it. He can't be that goofy."
With Axl currently out on the road flying the GNR banner and the rest of the original set having major success with Velvet Revolver, I guess we will continue to hold our breath eh?
Meanwhile Adler's band " Adler's Appetite " and the L.A. Guns and "very special guests" ...

Better Motörhead Than Dead: Live At Hammersmith...
...rekindles memories of a momentous night that even a cosmopolitan city like London doesn’t see every day. Early June 2005 saw the long queue in front of the venerable Hammersmith Odeon, a venue of many legendary live shows – stretch right to the tube station on the other side of the road. What was going on? Motörhead had invited their fans to their 30th anniversary party, and over 5,000 of them accepted. Their number would have been even greater had the powers that be in the British capital not rigorously limited the capacity of the illustrious venue. Loved by their fans, respected by the press due to the personal integrity of the three band members, Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee, Motörhead were experiencing their seventh or eighth spring in the 30th year of their existence and continued to be as generous as ever.
The track listing consists of 23 songs, a kind of ‘best of Motörhead’ featuring, among others, classics such as ‘Bomber’, ‘Ace Of Spades’, ‘Overkill’, ‘Sacrifice’ and ‘Iron Fist’. Then there are some more recent tracks from their 2005 release, Inferno, and a number of surprises: June 2005 saw Motörhead delve deeply into vaults that their fans had assumed to be permanently locked up. “This one is from an album that you hated,” Lemmy announced to his dumbfounded audience, reviving Another Perfect Day with ‘Dancing On Your Grave’ and ‘I Got Mine’. And lo and behold - the fans enthusiastically celebrated songs in 2005 that they had once condemned. A truly remarkable night.

Authentic US political signatures are very hard obtain so this really is the chance of a lifetime particularly if, as pundits are suggesting Gore runs again for the White House. This investment could serve you very well in years to come.

StephenJ Auckland NEW ZEALAND Created Sun 22nd Jul '07 06:51 (GMT)Question to EIL: I have found a signed copy of this album, which I quickly purchased. I am curious to know what it is worth. The album has been signed on the front cover (not the hologram insert) in silver pen. I guess that this has been done either when the album was released or not long before release. Can you advise what this could be worth?[reply to this topic ]

Greetings all. Last Sunday, I went to see my beloved Guillemots in the absolutely stunning surroundings of Somerset House in London. The 'mots were as usual absolutely superb and get better everytime I see them (4 times and counting), this time around I managed to get down the front so I got an excellent view and I even got to meet the awesome Fyfe Dangerfield afterwards which was cool and made an fantastic day even more special. Anyhow, since I last spoke to you I have added a plethora of new titles from the following: RICHARD HAWLEY Tonight The Streets Are Ours
"I saw this programme on TV about ASBOs and by the end of it I almost shoed the telly in. For me it's quite angry so I wanted to turn that into a positive cause I don't agree with destroying things, well sometimes it's a good idea. I was sort of imagining the choir in 'Angels With Dirty Faces', the James Cagney film. There's a fairground quality to it too. I changed this track quite a bit. It's huge now.I just think that old people and women and kids should be able to go out on the streets and not be worried about being battered. It's partly that and the middle section of the song is about how much people need each other, we can't exist on our own we have to co-exist with each other. But mainly it's about the brutal ignorance and insensitive way this f**king pile of sh*t government has decided to deal with anti social behaviour. The future of any country is in its kids and if a sh*t load of them are basically taught to just be consumers is it a surprise that when they can't consume because they're poor that they just go 'well, we'll take it anyway'? An ASBO doesn't do anything, it's just a piece of paper that says 'go away'."
