Carole Manchester, Lancashire UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 1st Feb '08 12:56 (GMT)Allan Clarke-The Only One Happy New Year One of my friends has this album and thinks that it is brilliant so i am checking out the website with a view to purchase.I dont know if Alan reads this site but i would like to wish him and his family a happy new year and hope that everything is going well.As a massive Hollies fan (Clarkey)period i just want to say that you have one of the most distinctive voices and i was saddened when you retired from The Hollies in 2000.At the moment i am purchasing Hollies albums that i had not got round to buying and every one just blows me away.I have been looking for an Allan Clarke website for ages to send a message so this one is ideal.Anyway keep on with the music Allan,God Bless and stay cool.Carole x.[reply to this topic ]

Richard Austin - UK Office UNITED KINGDOM Created Thu 31st Jan '08 19:19 (GMT) Edited Thu 31st Jan '08 19:19 (GMT)If there is one thing worse than being spinning drunk ... ... it's feeling the same but without having had the pleasure of several pint of foaming ale first.
Still, stiff upper lip & on with the show. At my age it's probably the best I can hope for.
Today's letter was 'S' - a nice & easy choice but somehow most of the CDs I supplied for aural delectation remained unplayed. Still, we had some
Sonic Youth which was fun &
Skids &
The Smiths which were OK. I myself managed to warp back to 1973 & ended up playing
Slayed? & Next by the
Sensational Alex Harvey Band .
I must confess that when everyone had gone, I declared 'S' complete & played the new
Tom Palmer CD - well, it does
feature all of Show Of Hands, so it's not as much of a departure as Julian playing
All About Eve on 'E' day !!!
The beat ...

Simon Wright - UK Chart Product & Imports UNITED KINGDOM Created Wed 30th Jan '08 09:21 (GMT) Edited Wed 30th Jan '08 15:47 (GMT) Edited 4 times a MAGICAL MYSTERY signature.... I have just obtained this fantastic official Souvenir Programme for 'Liverpool's Second Great Mersey Beatle Extravaganza' which was held in August 1982 at the Adelphi Hotel.
Despite being over 25 years old it is in great condition but before putting it up for sale we need your help! It has been autographed by Bob Wooler, Mojo Filter and Norman Killon plus one other mysterious signature…?
Look at the image above and see if you can put a name to the scribble with a Fab Four connection. You think you know? Then email
simon.wright@eil.com and if you're correct I'll find you a special prize !!

Right, i was going to tell you about the rather collectable Amy Winehouse
'Back To Black - The Album Remixes' promotional 2-CD set but they've all gone so look out instead for some rather nifty Mobile Fidelity/
audiophile vinyl being added in the near future including a lovely Earl Klugh UHQR box set.

Peter Fenton - North American Office USA Created Mon 28th Jan '08 05:57 (GMT) Edited Tue 29th Jan '08 17:06 (GMT) Edited 14 times Genesis, Beatles... and I'm Wrecked Hi Everyone. The Steve/Peter eil.com road trip rolls on, and the amount of new stock we’ve uncovered is truly staggering. I think it will start hitting our site as soon as Wednesday morning, so watch this space for nearly 1,000 new additions priced from cheap-cheap-cheap to slightly-less-than-cheap, including a wide range of rarities from authentic backstage tour passes to sealed '60s and '70s BEATLES LP’s. While making our buying rounds, people seem to be fawning all over Steve wherever we go, but then telling me that I look “really tired” or “wrecked.” OK, perhaps Steve still has youth on his side (…barely!) but I have bigger hair, and I can eat more than he can. Not to change the subject, but… I have two recent American GENESIS collectables to bring to your attention, both from the band's recent career retrospective remasters. The first is the GENESIS -- COMPLETE 12-DISC ADVANCE SET , which remains shrink-wrapped together, just as it was sent out to media for review and radio consideration. The second is the GENESIS -- 6-DISC ADVANCE ALBUM COLLE... [reply to this topic ]

Julian Thomas - UK Office UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 25th Jan '08 14:23 (GMT)I love it when a plan comes together First name, Mister. Second name, period. Last name, Teeeee. Yes, today's letter is 'T', which so far stands for tranquillity as I have the whole place to myself. Steve & Peter are jointly trying to relieve California of all its rare records & memorabilia, Richard has finally succumbed to the latest round of viral infections and has retired, unbalanced & dizzy (no noticeable change!), and Mark is today on a first aid training course, hopefully learning how to make Richard better. The decks are static & the amplifier is not even humming...peace reigns. Except for the damn phone ringing all the time! On the up side, I have bought a rather nice Beatles Please Please Me black & gold label STEREO LP, a Queen Bohemian Rhapsody blue vinyl 7", the legendary Sex Pistols God Save The Queen A&M single, a Damned Neat Neat Neat Japanese 7" and even a Syd Barrett Octopus French single. Wow, what a morning. I really am in the 'A' Team (and not Howling Mad as some of you may suggest...!)[reply to this topic ]

Peter Fenton - North American Office USA Created Thu 24th Jan '08 09:02 (GMT) Edited Wed 30th Jan '08 18:21 (GMT) Edited 15 times Road Rage, Lasagne, and The Pretty, Pretty Snow
Hi Everyone. I'm on the road this week with fellow eil.com buyer Steve. After his 11 hour plane journey from London , I immediately subjected him to a giant plate of Southern BBQ , and threw him into the car for our 5 hour car journey to our first appointment. I forced him to stay awake listening to my endless stories of drama and vice, with the air conditioning cranked on high and Pet Shop Boys blaring from the speakers. He seemed to be handling it OK, until the temperature outside dropped below freezing, and the light snow turned into white-out blizzard conditions. I was winding my way through the treacherous terrain while also digging in my backpack for my phone, fiddling with my iPod, and tailgating anyone not willing to yield to my supreme fast-lane power. Steve was white-knuckling the ride in the passenger seat, knowing that if he questioned my driving, I'd slow down just long enough to kick him into the pretty, pretty snow. Now he's in the bed next to mine, snoring like a drunken sailor.&nbs... [reply to this topic ]
