philB Brisbane, Queensland AUSTRALIA Created Tue 15th Feb '11 02:01 (GMT) Edited Tue 15th Feb '11 02:05 (GMT) Edited 3 times Review: Paul Carrack first sang this song with the band Ace in 1974. It was the only "hit" the band ever had and has been covered by many other people. This cover, by Carrack himself, is as good as, if not better than, the original version. Also of note on this 2-disc version of the single is a cover of Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over", which is not a bad version at all. Also included here is a rarer live version of his Mike & The Mechanics song "The Living Years" with the London Community Gospel Choir. If you liked this song originally, you'll love this version with the choir. Quite a good little piece of Carrack for your collection.[reply to this topic ]

Some are promo/not for resale and all original. I also have many original bootlegs, including the great white wonder 4 disc set. Could someone tell me how to get prices for what these are worth. Like I said they are the originals and some even have the sheet music. Thank you for any information you can lend.[reply to this topic ]
tyl-76 Ciney BELGIUM Created Fri 28th Jan '11 22:17 (GMT)Review: I own a copy of this very scarce 12" promo. A very strange one indeed, seems this was produced alongside the '77 European Tour. Very nice collage inside gatefold sleeve. I found it more than 15 years ago in a Record Fair in Belgium, for a very cheap price. Record and sleeve are both in mint condition. I must say this is the only copy I ever saw, and your copy is the very first one I'm seeing since then. I've been collecting Aero stuff for more than 25 years now, and gathered more than 660 records from all around the world, but this one is indeed a very rare item with a small production. The text included in the blank space on the front sleeve of my copy is "Peiro". I made some research on the Net about it, but didn't find anything. I also thought it could be the journalist's name. If someone can help me by telling me how was "Peiro", I'd be pleased. If you don't have this item yet, don't hesitate, you won't see it again in years.[reply to this topic ]

wakeycats1 UNITED KINGDOM Created Thu 27th Jan '11 09:49 (GMT)Question to EIL: I purchased this book at 00.30hrs on Tuesday 18th January, paying for 1st class postage. I received confirmation on 20th that the book had been despatched. Today I received 2 emails. The eil.com email confirmed the book had been despatched on 20th yet the email from 991 stated the book was despatched on 22nd, some 5 days after I paid for it! Paying 1st class postage rates (£16.50) I fully expect a 1st class service and that would be next day delivery for 90% of all post. As yet I have not received my book although I am expecting Parcelforce to redeliver a parcel they first tried delivering on Monday this week, but even that was 6 days after I paid for the 1st clss postage. Please can you confirm why you charge for 1st class postage but then don't deliver.[reply to this topic ]

abbasvirji London, LONDON UNITED KINGDOM Created Sat 22nd Jan '11 18:01 (GMT)Review: A Colour Symphony by Sir Arthur Bliss I have owned an ancient version of this work since I was a student (early 60s) and had always enjoyed its various themes and melodies. I could not resist this version and have not been disappointed by the sheer quality of its reproduction. I used to go to various concerts by Charles Groves all those years ago and met him on a few occasions, including at the concert he conducted when Murray Perahia won the Leeds Piano Competition, so perhaps I am a bit biased. I thoroughly recommend this work if you are a fan of English music. I recmmend[reply to this topic ]
