Stones, Zep, Who & Jam.... This week I would like to highlight a few choice items I picked up and have already been added to the site. The first is a very rare Rolling Stones box issued to promote the Urban Jungle tour. These things don't turn up very often and the boxes are so fragile they are often destroyed. This one is unlikely to stay in stock long so don't hang about!
Led Zeppelin fans are in for a treat as I managed to secure two very early concert programmes for the 1969 and 1970 Bath Festivals, both in amazing condition. These programmes feature great line-ups including Pink Floyd, John Mayall and Fleetwood Mac with Zeppelin not even topping the bill!
There are some artists whose sales awards rarely surface onto the collectors market. One such artist is The Who. Within the last few days I have purchased an authentic BPI certified Gold Sales Award for The Ultimate Collection compilation album - it looks fabulous, look...
Lastly this week I was originally going to talk about the two fully autographed Jam items bought, but one sold within minutes of hitting the site, so snap this one up before it's too late.
New t-shirts at great prices for pre-orders only.... I've had news of new t-shirt designs from both David Gilmour and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Both shirts are due in around the 22nd January and you can purchase them NOW for £12.99 each - once they are out the price will revert back to £14.99, so if you want to save and look good, now's the time to do it. The David Gilmour shirt is for his 'On An Island' album, and comes in Small, Medium, Large & XL. There are two new Chili Peppers designs, one for the classic 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik' album - available in Small, Medium, Large & XL, plus a 'I Luv RHCP' design which is also in Small, Medium, Large & XL.
Planet Rock News: New Queen Album: In a recent interview with Canadian TV Channel CBC, Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor spoke about the new material they have recorded in the studio with former Free front man Paul Rodgers. 'It's unlike anything that we've done or anything Paul's done', May commented, adding that 'next time we go out (on tour) we won't be nostalgia, we will be "this is what we are".' No mention of when the new album is due to surface but we'll keep you posted.
Keith Moon Film: Exciting news: A new film about the life of Who drummer Keith Moon is in production. Apparently Roger Daltrey himself hand picked Wayne's World/Austin Powers star, Mike Myers, to play the role of the band's notorious drummer. The "biopic" entitled 'See Me Feel Me: Keith Moon For Your Pleasure' is due for release in 2009.
Dylanesque: Bryan Ferry is due to release a new album of Bob Dylan covers. The Roxy Music front man has revamped 11 of Dylan's songs for the covers album entitled 'Dylanesque' due out on the 5th March.
Jimi Riddle: An unusual guitar recording of the Welsh National Anthem is causing speculation as to whether it could be the handy work of guitar legend Jimi Hendrix. According to an internet site ww.thereddragonhood.com, the alternative version of 'Land Of My Fathers' was found by former producer, Dave Chapman, in his North London recording studio. The song surfaced at the end of an old eight track demo by 70's group the 'New Flames' and although there is no indication that Hendrix is actually responsible for the recording, its similarity with Hendrix's version of the US National Anthem has left the tape's new owner Martin Davies, keen to find New Flames bass player Viv Williams, thought to have been friend's with Jimi. Williams is now possibly the only person left to verify the tape's heritage.
What’s your Poison: 80's hair band, Poison, are due to record an album of Classic rock covers and are appealing to their fans for song suggestions. Whether it's The Who, Skynyrd, The Stones or AC/DC the boys want your vote before January 10th on their myspace site.

The expensive one Must Have a Lyric sheet of the OTH song, and the rare one comes from NZ, though AUS edition also goes around the 70 USD. It's a black and white photograpy of a sculpture up on a hill on Auckland. Don't recall the name of the mountain. regards!

WOW! - It's Vow... There has been some weird and wonderful packaging for vinyl and CD's over the years and no-one embraced the concept more readily than Garbage. One of the more legendary pieces was their debut 7" only single 'Vow' which came in an embossed metal sleeve no less! Let me know your favourite packaging for a slab of vinyl/CD...

Back to the old routine... Last week I started working fully yatto after the Japanese New Year holidays. I received a package from a regular supplier including a copy of the Pearl Jam rare Singles promotional only CD (click here).
I visited some of my usual places including a big store's warehouse full of vinyl. It was unfortunately absolutely the worst place I have ever visited. They had a tons of vinyls (more than 10,000), but more than 90% of items were incomplete items (No Obi , damaged sleeve , Rental stickered and NOTHING RARE!!) I had to spent 5 wasted hours there and bought only 4 items....they were keeping more than 10copies each of very poor titles...who can tell what for??
However, in other places I found items like the Manics Forever delayed extra remixes Japanese competition winner only CD, Rolling Stones - Don't stop Japanese / EU promo only CDS etc. These will be in my next shipment due to arrive in the UK next week.
On the plus side, I did pick up the items which I won at a local dealers auction. This included a Rolling Stones coloured wax vinyl LP with white labels - not really a very "Auction class" item but this is Japan...
A chance to own a rare Shakira box set... Starting the year with an extra year on my back ....last week was my birthday number 24, so don't be shy, if you don't know where to send my gift just drop me a line ....in my latest boxes I have shipped some Madonna HBO latin america posters which really are beautiful and I'm not sure If I'm going to be able to re-stock them so if you move fast you will be able to get our very last copy of it (click here) - it would look amazing framed.. I also have shipped an amazingly rare Shakira Boxet which was issued to promote her first International Massive album now with the huge support of record company in Mexico after their first two records which got local-only promotion in Colombia (you can see the Magia album here), so Sony Music made this promo 12" boxets and gave them away in the press conference - it is rumoured to exist only 250 copies. This is similar to what they did with Oasis Be Here Now box set although this comes with the cassette. They made launch press conference with the artists on the press conference and this boxes were given to the ones that were there (including me !!)...nowadays I know a couple of record companies in Mexico/Colombia who think they do not need promotion at all so definitely miss those good times... more from me soon !

Question to EIL: I have got an old 78 rpm. vinyl of Judy Garland singing Somewhere over the rainbow. could you tell me if this item is of any value and if it is collectable. I also own a handfull of other 78's one of which gave me fun when I was little... it is "ghost riders in the sky" that the Shadows covered, but this is the origonal by Stan Jones, with comedy lyrics. "Wild Bill Hickup" on the flip side. very funny.
Re: JUDY GARLAND The Wizard Of Oz (1971 UK issue of the
classic 1956 soundtrack to the film on the turquoise & gold
'yin-yang' MGM label, gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve
shows some edge scuffing and light ringwear but the vinyl
shows minimal play - a nice copy!) View this product

Review: I own five Beatles picture discs and this one "The British are Coming, The Beatles" is one of them. I would like to find out a little more about it including the current value. I consider it to be a special because it is a limited edition and also its in 3-D. alas the 3-D specs that came with it are gone, but I remember they were just plain anyway. from Allan.
