Vegetable Man UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 14th Mar '06 11:20 (GMT)Got I hate this line - why is it here ? This is one to see - Finally you get the WHOLE of the Washington Concert in 1964 along with the Budokan in 1966, not just the Washington snippets on 'First US Visit'. The quality is actually better than the old bootleg VHS copies I've had for years - a real treat ![reply to this topic ]

Liked the odd track here and there. But that was about it. And then someone recommended this album to me. I thought, yeah why not, take and chance on it. And so I did. With no regrets. I listened to this a few times, and now I'm hooked. I have just bought one or two of the other albums as well.[reply to this topic ]

Karahi King Prawn UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 14th Mar '06 11:06 (GMT)Underrated Of all the 'second division' artists that emerged from the R&B/Beat boom of the early '60s, were there many better than The Artwoods? I imagine most people only know of them as being the band where Jon Lord and Keef Hartley served their apprenticeships, but if you have any kind of interest in the 'Mod' pop of this era then you need this CD - their take on Solomon Burke's 'Keep Lookin' is worth the price of admission alone.[reply to this topic ]
Re: THE ARTWOODS Art Gallery (Deleted 1995 German 26-track
Repertoire CD album, a stunning collection of tracks released between
1964 and 1967, from one of the best R & B bands in the 60s, fronted
by Ron Wood's brother, Art [hence the band's name!], which also
featured a pre-Deep Purple Jon Lord and Keef Hartley, all 12 cuts
from their rare 1966 album, plus 14 BONUS TRACKS : A & B
sides from their Decca & Parlophone singles, tracks from the
super-scarce 'Jazz In Jeans' EP, and their Fontana single under the name St. Valentine's Day Massacre, sealed picture sleeve)View this product

sdw12 UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 14th Mar '06 11:02 (GMT)Alive IV Could have been so so good!! I'm not a fan of the rock/symphony thing fortunately KISS seem to have pulled off one of the more credible efforts to combine the two. David Campbell [Beck's daddy] does an admirable job of the orchestral arrangements and they actually lend themselves to some of the early tunes like 'King of the Night Time world' and 'Great Expectations' really well. If only Eric Singer had been on the drums instead of Peter Criss the whole thing would have sounded a lot meatier. [reply to this topic ]
