In this behind-the-scenes look at the most famous musical group in history, Hunter gives the complete story of the Beatles. He had full access to the Fab Four as well as their help and encouragement. He spent eighteen months with them when they were at the peak of their musical genius and at the pinnacle of their popularity, and he remained friends with each of the members as they went their separate ways. The warmth in which he spoke about the, Paul, George and Ringo showed not only a deep respect for them as artists but also as friends. He was very supportive of Paul’s current marital problems and very dismissive of that day’s newspaper headlines.
His personal anecdotes about Beatles recording sessions, getting stuck in an Indian restaurant in Bangor with the four of them fretting over not having the cash to pay for the meal was one of many tales I had never heard before and had never appeared in any publications before. Hunter also treated us to the “world premier” of unseen footage of Paul and Linda McCartney on holiday with the Davies’s in Portugal1968.
