Saul Watson - Product Promotion UNITED KINGDOM Created Mon 12th Feb '07 09:06 (GMT) Edited Mon 12th Feb '07 09:08 (GMT) Edited 2 times The Award Season Country trio The Dixie Chicks have made a triumphant comeback by dominating the major honours at the Grammy Awards. The group's five prizes come four years after they caused uproar among many US country music fans for saying they were "ashamed" of President George Bush. Their awards included best song, record and album. The Red Hot Chili Peppers won four, while Mary J Blige won three. The Grammy Awards are the most prestigious honours in the global music calendar, with 108 categories ranging from pop to jazz to gospel to polka. The Police opened the show, playing their 1979 hit Roxanne to a standing ovation from 12,000 fans. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are The Police and we are back," Sting said. The band are expected to confirm a reunion world tour at a press conference on Monday. Check out our Grammy Store here .
On Wednesday it’s the turn of the Brit Awards to take center stage. In total, 46 artists are crossing their fingers in the lead up to the awards, but there are only 13 statuettes to give out. With the ever-unpredictable host Russell Brand, taking the control of the show, it’s shaping up to be the most amazing show ever in the history of the BRITS! Don’t forget it’s all going out live, so be sure to tune into ITV1 at 8pm (GMT) on to catch the event. Check out our new BRITS 2007 store.

Richard Austin - UK Office UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 9th Feb '07 21:27 (GMT)Apologies "Are you going to make a blog entry?""Well ..."
"You really OUGHT to make a blog entry"
"Well ..."
I blame the other buyers - They keep getting all this stuff in then telling you all about it, leaving me with nothing much to add apart from the stuff that they've just bought and told you about anyway.
Things would be different if I had some kind of life I suppose, but when I'm not buying it or selling it, I'm listening to it, playing it or watching it.
Really enjoyed the
Noisettes CD though - one of the most refreshing things I've heard in a good while!
You guessed right - I failed completely trapping the cat
Have a groovy week, pop pickers !

Saul Watson - Product Promotion UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 9th Feb '07 10:09 (GMT)Planet Rock News: The Who Announce Tour, Planet Rock witnessed an exclusive acoustic set by the Who this week, where the band announced a European Tour at a press conference in Covent Garden. Mark Jeeves, producer Liz and the Boss squeezed into the depths of a posh members club in London to hear Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey unplugged. Starting with ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’, Townshend claimed the only reason they were doing the set was because Roger wanted to prove to the press that he could still do it. Needless to say, he could and followed that with a sublime version of ‘Behind Blue Eyes’, before ripping through ‘Mike Post Theme’ and ‘Tea And Theatre’ from the new album, ‘Endless Wire’. A question and answer session followed, which included Pete Townshend expressing his glee at headlining Sunday night at this year’s Glastonbury. The Who European tour starts in Lisbon on the 16th of May. UK dates begin on the 22nd in Birmingham and end with a two night run at Wembley Arena at the end of June. Tickets go on sale Monday (12th Feb). For tour dates and venues. CLICK HERE [reply to this topic ]

Saul Watson - Product Promotion UNITED KINGDOM Created Mon 5th Feb '07 09:50 (GMT) Edited Wed 7th Feb '07 09:56 (GMT) Edited 6 times Tangerine Dream Tangerine Dream, this seven time Grammy nominated European band, is a singular phenomenon. As an instrumental band using just high-end modern technology, simultaneously surrounded by a strong rock 'n' roll identity, they will hardly fit into any given musical pigeonhole. Many have tried to copy what‘s became known after years as 'The Tangerine Dream Sound' - so far absolutely unsuccessfully.
In 2007 the band will celebrate their 40th Anniversary in with the release of their latest album - "Madcap’s Flaming Duty". Released 2nd April, the album is dedicated to former Pink Floyd guitarist Syd Barrett who died in July 2006.
Additionally, EMI will be re-promoting the entire Tangerine Dream Virgin back catalogue to coincide with the 40th anniversary and the new album.

Saul Watson - Product Promotion UNITED KINGDOM Created Mon 5th Feb '07 08:44 (GMT) Edited Mon 5th Feb '07 09:32 (GMT) Edited 4 times Soul Legend Returns Reverend Al Green is known the world over for his extraordinary voice, his unmistakable sound and his legendary hits. A new studio album for Blue Note will be released in the US and UK in the autumn later this year.
It was in the early 1970s that Green carved his place in music history with a run of celebrated hits that made him not just an R&B star but a pop icon. Since 1976, however, Green has concentrated on gospel music and since 1979 has led a Baptist congregation, in Memphis, Tenn.
"The music is the message, the message is the music. So that's my little ministry that the Big Man upstairs gave to me—a little ministry called love and happiness."
In June and July 2007 he will perform several rare UK concerts at the following venues; Thursday 28th June - London Royal Albert Hall Friday 29th June - Manchester MEN Arena Monday 2nd July - Edinburgh Playhouse Wednesday 4th July - Birmingham NIA Arena Friday 6th July - London Hammersmith Apollo.
Tickets for all can be ordered from

Peter Fenton - North American Office USA Created Sat 3rd Feb '07 06:44 (GMT)What You Want... What You Really, Really Want... Hi Everyone. Posh is moving to Los Angeles, Baby is going Downtown , and the other Spice Girls are still in the news, as well. If you are doubtful that a live reunion will ever happen, at least you can surround yourself with this complete set of official Spice Girls Dolls , still in their original boxes! It amazes me how enduring and loyal Grateful Dead fans are. This week, I offer for your approval this spectacular Grateful Dead US RIAA-Certified Gold Sales Award for their Golden Road Box Set . It's one of the best awards by any band we've had the pleasure to offer, and also one the few Dead awards I've ever seen offered for sale anywhere! And if you desire a little extra illumination to view your collection, I suggest you check out these official, scented candles by both Elton John and Lenny Kravitz . Have a great week, everyone![reply to this topic ]
Richard Austin - UK Office UNITED KINGDOM Created Fri 2nd Feb '07 17:30 (GMT)Looking forward to a fun weekend ... Looks like I'll be spending this weekend 'relaxing' by chasing the cat around the house attempting to administer her course of antibiotics. It sounded so easy when the vet said 'just give her one of these twice a day for a week'...
The bits left unsaid were :-
1) First locate the cat - How is it they can magically wander off into a parallel universe whenever they like, only to return at food time ?
2) Somehow persuade the cat that swallowing the pill really is a good idea.
3) Somehow also keep the cat from going into immediate reverse gear upon pill approach or otherwise turning into a whirring ball of claws & fur upon contact.
4) When you eventually give up & have the wizard wheeze of putting it in their food, stopping them using their built in 'Pill-hidden-in-food Detector', calling in the sappers & disposing of the pill just off of & under the food bowl, cleverly making it look like it has been swallowed. Then you discover a small pile hidden under the food dish or behind the toilet cistern a while later.
Artful beasts, Cats.
The next challenge is somehow getting a urine sample !!!
Answers on a postcard please ....
