Re: THE SMITHS Still Ill (UK original pair of metal stampers for the A and
B sides of their rare 12" single. Stampers are created from the
mothers, and are negative - they have ridges where the final disc has
grooves - usually a maximum of 6 sets are created from a single
mother, before being destroyed, and each stamper has a limited
lifespan, sometimes just 1000 copies of a record may be pressed
before a new stamper is used. This rare set also comes complete with
a pair of finished record labels. The ultimate Smiths collectable!)View this product

littleenglander UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 14th Mar '06 12:03 (GMT)Punk & New Wave Thank god for the Punk Rock wars of 1976/1977 - It may have spawned a clutch of poor imitators who didn't understand that it's original ideals stood for individuality and freedom of expression but it paved the way for a whole host of other bands/movements including bands like Duran Duran, Adam Ant and to present day favourites such as Franz Ferdinand and Hard-Fi. It helped wipe the slate clean and (for a time at least) stopped ageing bald men doing half hour songs with a ten minute drum solo in the middle - what was all that about?[reply to this topic ]
SoulMan UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 14th Mar '06 12:00 (GMT)QPR The early shows with Paul Rodgers were like a Karaoke show with him reading all the lyrics from a prompt, but by the time the band hit Sheffield (where this was recorded) they had really started playing like a real band. It's a pretty good set list with loadsa good Queen stuff and the best of Rodgers career thrown in too. It's Not Queen, It's Not Free but it's a bloody great rock show![reply to this topic ]

sdw12 UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 14th Mar '06 11:58 (GMT)The Magnificent Seventh Any fan of good honest rock should make it their business to own this album. It's an album full of everything Thunder fans and rock fans would look for in a record. There is the usual acoustic led ballad 'I'm dreaming Again' through to the full on Led Zepesque 'Monkey See Monkey Do'. There is also shock horror, a hit single in the shape of the Stones influenced 'I Love You More Than Rock & Roll' If you want genuine British rock in the vien of Bad Co, The Faces and Humble Pie then this is one for your collection!![reply to this topic ]

1961 UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 14th Mar '06 11:51 (GMT)Elvis 56 Collector's Edition Own a piece of Rock History from the 'King Of Rock & Roll. Elvis was by far the undisputed King of Rock & Roll music. Also known as the 'Hillbilly Cat', 'The King,' 'The Pelvis', (to name but a few) his popularity continues to soar even after his death back in 1977 at the tender age of just 42. On this album you'll find Rockabilly, Blues, R&B, and Pop some of Elvis' early material. Elvis could sing anything including Country & Western and Gospel music! 1956 was a remarkable year for Elvis and Elvis 56 Collector's Edition compliments that year. It may have started a few years earlier but the tracks on this album catapolted him to superstar status!! This is the raw Elvis without the big orchestral backgrounds which he grew to love in his later recordings. I love this album so much I bought two copies - one to play, and one to store for prosperity. It start's with Heartbreak Hotel just a 3 piece muscian backing and includes such greats as Love Me, Ready Teddy, and ends with Money Honey. A number of these tracks he continually sang throughout his career. It's a great feeling having that personal piece of your own Elvis locked inside you that you can enjoy over and over...and this is where it all begins to explode into a massive world frenzy of hip swinging pure adultarated raw music straight at yer face! Take me to the next level please!![reply to this topic ]
