 I find, is usually a load of pretentious crap but the idea of the Ebbsfleet Landmark Project seems a good one to me and is not 10 minutes away from us here at EIL.
5 artists have been shortlisted to design a project to symbolise the new Ebbsfleet Valley development and the surrounding areas including the nearby Eurostar train station.
Obviously my idea of a scene showing a big fight between a load of illegal immigrants from Kosovo & some local chavs outside McDonalds in the pedestrianised Gravesend high street didn't get nominated, so i'm leaning towards Mark Wallinger's white horse (provided it is lit up at night) or the cubed tower from Daniel Buren, even if he is French (Europhobe, moi?).
Anyone else made their choice?
Not in the class of Antony Gormley's (who really is a truly talented artist) Angel of the North but should certainly become a talking point when it's finished sometime in 2010.
No contest for sporting event of the weekend - Let's hope the mighty Eagles can crush the Wurzels...

Garbage.
The cover art shows pics from 1993 Van Halen, with Sam Hagar jumping int he background. The material on the dvd is the US festival from 1983.
The music does NOT align with the video clip. In fact it got so bad, that when it was supposed to be Runnin' With The Devil, the music was Jaimie's Cryn'. Ridiculous
No Hagar at all. (thank God) But all it was was 9 songs from the US festival all edited and chopped to sh*tz.
what a waste of money..
