COLDPLAY Parachutes (Limited Edition 2022 Argentinian 11-track LP pressed on 140-gram Dark Yellow Translucent Vinyl. Coldplay's debut album, Parachutes, was recorded in stages between November 1999 and May 2000, with producer Ken Nelson guiding a band barely two years into existence. Its most famous song came together almost by accident: during a tense night recording "Shiver" at Rockfield, a broken microphone forced a break, andNelson sent the band outside with a simple line, "Look at the stars, lads." Bassist Guy Berryman turned the phrase into the opening lyric, and Chris Martin, picking up an acoustic guitar and singing in what he later called a Neil Young voice, wrote the rest of "Yellow" that same evening, the song was finished and recorded before the band went to bed. Released as the album's second single, "Yellow" became Coldplay's first UK Top 5 hit and launched the band into wider recognition. The album also includes "Shiver," "Trouble" and "Don't Panic."
