WILLIAM ORBIT 'Hello Waveforms' Release Date 20/02/06
Grammy award winning writer/producer and contemporary music visionary, William Orbit returns with an eagerly

projects to date include his contribution to Madonna's 'Ray Of Light' album on which he produced, co-wrote and
performed U2's 'Electrical Storm', Blur's '13' and his smash hit single 'Barber?s Adagio For Strings'.
WESTLIFE 'Amazing' Release Date 20/02/06
Westlife launch themselves into 2006 with their brand new single 'Amazing'. Following on from the enormous success they achieved last year with
the release of their Number 1 album 'Face   To Face', Westlife return with a catchy mid-tempo love song that is proving to be a  firm favourite from the album.
Following a well-deserved 4-month break over the summer of 2005, Westlife stormed back into the charts, immediately hitting the Number 1 spot
with their smash single 'You Raise Me Up'. Since then, the Irish superstars have maintained a constant presence in the charts with the
further release of Face To Face [which sold a staggering 1.1million copies over the counter in the first 8 weeks in the UK alone]
and then came the sensational collaboration with Diana Ross, which saw the group celebrating 2 songs in the Top 10 at the same time.
Said Shane, "the success of the new album has been phenomenal and we are really enjoying being back in the thick of it all again.
7 albums in, we never expected to still be enjoying such success, and Face To Face is on course to be our biggest album to date which is fantastic news".
Following the release of 'Amazing', Westlife are looking forward to hitting the road in April when they kick off 'Face To Face '06 - The Tour',
tickets for which sold out in an incredible 24 hours. With much to look forward to, it would seem that 2006 will continue to see the rise of the
UK?s biggest and most unstoppable force on the charts.
EELS 'With Strings - Live At Town Hall' Release Date 20/02/06
You never know what you'll get when you attend an Eels concert. One year it's vocoders and synthesizers, the next
it's gritty garage rock. Cut to 2005: Eels leader Mark Oliver Everett, aka E, releases the highly acclaimed 'Blinking
Lights and Other Revelations' double album and assembles his most ambitious version of the Eels yet: a seven piece
band consisting of Everett backed by a string quartet and two multi-instrumentalists juggling lap steel, guitar, upright
bass, mandolin, saw, melodica, celeste, pump organ, piano, and a trash can and suitcase drum set. Having brought
this elaborate show to Boston the night before, can the Eels get to New York, play Late Night with David Letterman,
and perform their concert at the legendary Town Hall, which is being filmed for a concert film - all with grace under
incredible pressure? The answer is yes, and the proof is here! Now you can have the best seat in the house. Enjoy 28
songs from all phases of the Eels' ten year career, along with great songs by other artists as interpreted by Eels with
strings, and rare backstage and behind the scenes footage of life on the road with Eels. No tickets, no parking hassles,
no drunk guy blocking your view. Just the spine-tingling performance of Eels with strings, Live at Town Hall!

Ray Davies, one of Britain's most successful and influential songwriters, releases his eagerly anticipated solo

distinctive vocals with astutely observed lyrics, the new album brims effervescently with Ray's heady, unmistakable
style and talent. Each song is a gem both lyrically and musically and tells the influence, journey and direction of
Ray's creative process. Featuring his hugely talented and accomplished band, it is a complete story through twelve
tracks and is testament to Ray?s astute observational ability.
THE WONDER STUFF 'Suspended By Stars' Release Date 20/02/06
'Suspended By Stars' is the most definitive Wonder Stuff album to date. Written by the whole band, this album has
the rawness of 'Eight Legged Groove Machine', the folkiness of 'Hup', the maturity of 'Construction For The Modern
Idiot' with an overall feel of 'Never Loved Elvis' mainly thanks to the superb fiddle playing by new member Erica Nockles.
With 18 top 20 singles and 3 top 10 albums under their belt, this album will be released on the band's 20th Anniversary
of forming. Mixed by the legendary Paul Tipler [80's Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Suede, Stereolab, Frank Black, Elastica,
Starsailor] the album combines the indie, rock, folk, pop sound in a way that will not disappoint Wonder Stuff fans of
every era.

JOSEPH ARTHUR 'Devils Broom' Release Date 13/02/2006
Joseph Arthur releases the brilliant 'Devil's Broom' on 13th February 2006.
'Devil's Broom' is taken from his album 'Our Shadows Will Remain', released in 2005 to blanket
critical acclaim.   Q wrote, "This year?s best singer-songwriter has arrived", the Sunday Times said,
"As good as it gets" & The Sun said, "Possibly the best singer-songwriter around".
Joseph has a reputation as one of America?s most astounding live performers; sounding less like a
solo artist than an electro-rock quartet. His trick is to record and loop effects-laden sounds live and
play and sing on top. He also creates huge painted canvasses live on stage.
He was hand picked by Coldplay and by REM to support them in the US, and his headline July and
October 2005 UK tours were a complete sell out.
TALKING HEADS 'Speaking In Tongues' Release Date 13/02/2006
Formed in the mid-?70s by art school chums David Byrne, Chris Frantz & Tina Weymouth   and ex-Modern
Lover Jerry Harrison. Talking Heads rose out of CBGB?s punk crucible and proved themselves one of the
most artistically adventurous and influential bands ever. Their visionary, polyrhythmic sound fused elements
including rock, funk and punk with diverse world beats, avant-garde minimalism and pure pop genius. From
their 1977 debut through their Brian Eno and self-produced classics to their swan song, 1988?s Steve
Lillywhite-produced 'Naked', the Heads constantly broke creative ground and scored unforgettable hits.
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, the band?s masterpieces are celebrated in Rhino?s
deluxe double disc upgrade of their catalogue, following their first four classic albums in January 'Speaking
In Tongues'.
VELVET UNDERGROUND 'Velvet Redux Live MCMXCIII' DVD Release Date 13/02/2006
When the Velvet Underground decided to call it quits in 1970, the last thing anyone expected was for them
to reform. But in 1993 they announced plans for a reunion tour in Europe which also included opening for U2
on select dates.
Shortly after this, Sterling Morrison passed away, so this is the only DVD to capture the entire original line-up.
'Velvet Redux: Live MCMXCIII' contains not only brilliantly extended versions of Velvets? classics like 'Femme
Fatale',  'Pale Blue Eyes' and 'Heroin' but also ultra obscure numbers such as the bombastic 'Hey Mr Rain' and
drummer Moe Tucker's sweetly innocent singing on 'I'm Sticking With You'. This DVD stands as a fitting tribute
to both Morrison and the legacy of The Velvet Underground.
LIZ MCCLARNON 'Woman In Love' Release Date 13/02/2006
NICKELBACK 'Far Away' Release Date 13/02/2006
THE JAM 'Snap!' Release Date 13/02/2006
After The Jam's brilliant but brief career and their shock dissolution in 1983, the Snap! compilation was soon released as a fitting summary of what was then Britain's biggest band. It is also widely
accepted as one of the best best-ofs ever. An expertly assembled double-album collection of all of the band's single A-sides with select B-sides, album tracks
and rarities, Snap! was a fitting summation of Britain's biggest band at the time. As a bonus, the album's first British pressing came with a free 4-song EP from
The Jam's farewell concert at London's Wembley Arena in December 1982. As the world rushed to adopt the new CD format in the mid 1980s, Snap! was gutted to a
strict singles collection. A shadow of its former self, Snap! withered, replaced by subsequent retrospectives. 23 years on Polydor proudly reissues the original
Snap!: The full 29 song track list including the four UK #1s 'Going Underground', 'Start'!, 'Town Called Malice' and 'Beat Surrender' - fan favorite b-sides and
album tracks including 'The Butterfly Collector', 'English Rose', 'Thick As Thieves' and 'Tales From The Riverbank'; plus the exclusive remix of 'Funeral Pyre' and
the 'That's Entertainment' demo. Also included - for the first time on CD in the UK is the rare Live! EP:'Move On Up', 'Get Yourself Together', 'The Great Depression'
and 'But I'm Different Now'. The original packaging - from the custom inner sleeves to Paolo Hewitt's liner notes -- has been restored.
The renewed Snap! is a brilliant reminder of why The Jam are among Britain's most revered and beloved bands. Throughout Paul Weller's subsequent success in the Style
Council and as a solo artist it is against his output with   The Jam that he is often judged. On February 15th Weller will be receiving a much deserved Brit
Award   for Outstanding Contribution To Music.
ROBIN S 'Show Me Love' Release Date 13/02/2006
Robin S ?Show Me Love? is the most successful single ever to be released on Champion   Records. It has sold over half a million copies in the UK and has appeared on over 100

it would have to be ?Show Me Love?. It is a regular on the Dave Pearce Dance Anthems show on Radio 1 and has been one of the most played records in Kiss Records history.
For this package the ?Classic? original Stonebridge mix opens the batting and is supported by brand new mixes by Todd Edwards [Beyonce, Craig David, Daniel Bedingfield], Diesel [X-Press II] & Kerri Chandler.

The first single to be lifted from the bands 20th album ?Hello Young Lovers? comes in the form of ?Perfume?.

hunted down by the bands loyal followers.
PAUL WELLER 'The Changing Man - Live at Chelmsford 1996' DVD Release Date 13/02/2006
DEFAULT 'One Thing Remains' Release Date 06/02/2006
"We're pretty much reinventing ourselves as a band". That's a fairly heavy statement for any singer to make, especially
someone who fronts a relatively young band with a million-plus in record sales, several massive rock radio hits ['Wasting
My Time', 'Deny', 'Taking My Life Away'], a bunch of late-night TV show appearances and more than a few sold-out tours
with some of the biggest alt and active rock groups in the country under its belt. But Dallas Smith, frontman of the platinum
rock band Default, knew that something needed to change before the group started work on its third record. The album's
two standout tracks, meanwhile, showcase the band's depth and range. 'Count On Me', the first single [co-written by Chad
Kroeger], is an upbeat, anthemic track that?s already hit it big on rock radio, even before the song?s official release. "It?s a
very positive song for us, and it gets away from the relationship-heavy lyrics that we?ve been doing for so long" says Smith.
"Chad and producer Bob Marlette really helped us expand our world view on this album". But the band also performs a 180
degree turn on the opening track 'All Is Forgiven', a lush, mid-tempo rocker with a shimmery guitar sound that, at times,
recalls an early 90s U2. It?s a departure for the band, and Smith is damn proud of it. "We changed that song a million times",
he remembers. "In some ways, it doesn?t sound like our band, but it?s my favourite song on the record, and I wanted to lead
off with that. It was important to me".

Talking Heads et al] at Allaire Studios near Woodstock, NY; 'Mr A-Z' is the inspired follow-up to Mraz?s acclaimed 2003 debut record 'Waiting For

IDIOT PILOT 'Strange We Should Meet Here' Release Date 06/02/2006
Compared to the likes of Radiohead, Deftones, Blood Brothers, Death From Above 1979 and The Mars Volta, Idiot Pilot create a style of music that?s propulsive,
violent and enticingly melodic It?s a startlingly original music outlook that makes their debut album 'Strange We Should Meet Here' such a compelling
listen. Hailing from Washington, Idiot Pilot consists of Daniel Anderson [instruments] and Michael Harris [vocals]. Throughout highlights such as 'To Buy A Gun'
and 'A Day In The Life Of A Poolshark', Idiot Pilot delivers a powerful music statement with soundscapes as eerily beautiful as they are crushingly aggressive.
"We wanted   a find a juxtaposition between the most emotionally charged music we knew, mixed with the cold logic of electronic sounds," says Harris.
"It?s the tension between them that excited us." "The building blocks for what we do come from three completely different styles," adds Anderson.
"The first is the glitchy electronica of artists like Squarepusher and the whole Warp Records thing. We also draw from more hardcore bands like The Blood Brothers as well as pop groups such as U2 and The Cure."
JEAN MICHEL JARRE 'Solidarnosc' Release Date 06/02/2006
Over 170,000 people turned out on 26 August 2005 for the concert of French electronic music composer Jean Michel Jarre to mark the 25th anniversary of Poland's Solidarity
trade union which helped bring down communism. Jean Michel Jarre had come to Gdansk at the invitation of the Polish Nobel Prize laureate Lech Walesa.
The state-of-the-art concert accompanied by the Gdansk Symphony Orchestra and Polish choirs, was held at the naval shipyards in the northern town of Gdansk where
Lech Walesa's Solidarnosc, the first free trade union in the Soviet bloc, was founded in August 1980. In front of an enthusiastic crowd massed amidst the shipyards'
immense cranes, Jarre played some well-known tracks including the Oxygene and Equinoxe suites amongst his new repertoire.
The cutting-edge concert was the first of its kind in Poland. High-definition video images were projected onto huge warehouses, light beams, fireworks and architectural
lighting transformed the dusty shipyard into a giant multimedia fresco. 7 million viewers watched the concert on television. Jarre played a special work written for the occasion,
'Solidarity Tonight', and invited Lech Walesa onto the stage for a huge ovation.
LOGGINS & MESSINA 'Live: Sittin' In Again At The Santa Barbara Bowl' DVD Release Date 06/02/2006
Almost 30 years after their 1976 break-up, the hugely successful duo of Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina took their hit making magic on the road once again in 2005.
When they first came together, Kenny Loggins was an acclaimed songwriter and Jim Messina a former member   of both Buffalo Springfield and Poco.
Their combined talents delivered a host of chart hits and timeless favourites that remain classics of the singer-songwriter pop-rock genre.
'Live...' finds these two consummate musicians revisiting the music that made them famous with the passion and energy that have inspired
fans for decades. This DVD captures them in front of their hometown audience on a sold out national tour, playing the songs that were
the soundtrack of the '70s including 'Danny's Song', 'Your Mama Don't Dance', 'Thinking of You' and 'Vahevala'. The DVD also includes 6 bonus performances from
1973 on the television show Midnight   Special. Over 2 hours of classics including their hits 'Your Mama Don't Dance', 'Thinking Of You' and 'Vahevala'.
THE ALARM MMVI 'Superchannel' Release Date 06/02/2006
THE ALARM MMVI 'Under Attack' 20/02/2006
In 2004 The Alarm, disguised under pseudonym The Poppyfields, scored a Top Thirty single with '45 RPM,' thanks to a video featuring the much younger Welsh band the
Wayriders lip-synching the tune. "We weren't trying to be malicious," says Mike Peters, the group's founder and front man, "We were just trying to
open the debate up, because there's so much music that gets played based on image. These days the song and the content get left behind?Ultimately,
the hope is that maybe now people will sit up and listen to our records again." And listen they did. The hoax grabbed the attention of the UK
music industry and will be the subject of a forthcoming Hollywood movie production. EMI/Liberty is proud to present the Alarm MMVI - a 2006 incarnation
of a band whose history goes back to 1978 when they started life in Rhyl,   North Wales, under the name Seventeen. After a change of name to 'Alarm Alarm',
they finally settled on 'The Alarm' when they heard John Peel describe them as "another two-name band" [like Duran Duran or Talk Talk]. In 1983 & 1984,
signed to IRS, their album 'Declaration' spawned the hits '68 Guns' and 'Where Were You Hiding When the Storm Broke'. A further four albums followed
before the original line-up split in 1991. Mike Peters pursued solo projects for some time and briefly re-formed the band, but the present line-up is of
four years' standing. This new recording follows the lead of that Poppyfields hit - and further proves that they can sound as fresh and dynamic
as a group 20 years their junior. Suspend any preconceptions and you'll discover a rollercoaster of an album. From the raucous punk of 'Cease
and Desist' to the spiky syncopation of 'Raindown' - there are echoes here of the Clash and the Cult, tempered by the expansive, passionate
rock sound with which Peters originally found fame. 'Under Attack' was produced by the band, along with Martin Wilding [Poppy Fields/Doves]
and George Williams [Babyshambles], with additional mixes by Pete Walsh [Simple Minds/Scott Walker].
THE SOURCE featuring CANDI STATON 'You Got The Love' Release Date 06/02/2006
Some records are timeless, classic dancefloor moments that, every so often, get pulled back on to the decks by sheer
public demand. 'You Got The Love' is one of those tracks. A top five hit in 1991 and again in 1997 [yes, it is nearly 9
years ago!], it's back again in a variety of new mixes, and set to firmly establish itself as a classic with another generation.
Demand and interest in the track has been building again since its inclusion in the final episode of 'Sex And The City',
leading to several bootlegs and cover versions gaining attention around the globe. But it's the original Candi Staton vocal
that can't be touched, and here are two stunning new interpretations for 2006. Cicada update the seminal Now Voyager
mix from 1997, and ahead of their debut album in March, Shapeshifters bring their all-time favourite track bang up to date,
with a wonderfully emotive reworking.
GOLDFRAPP 'Ride A White Horse' Release Date 13/02/2006
THE MAGIC NUMBERS 'I See You, You See Me' Release Date 13/02/2006
CORNERSHOP featuring ROWETTA 'Wop The Groove' Release Date 13/02/2006
In 2003 Cornershop embarked upon making their first film; about London?s independent music industry, looking at
aspects and views of normal bands that make music and those that contribute to the music industry - it includes
interviews with John Peel, guitar shop legend Andy Hackett, footage of the vinyl making process, and a 10 minute
drum solo.
Wop The Groove is the title track for this film. There's no beating around the bush with this one, a quality track with
a heavy duty riff and Rowetta on top form. The track sounded vastly different to what was going on when it was
recorded, & the difference is even more so today - written & produced by Tjinder Singh, also known as the national
debt - recorded at Sassi P. Studio, Vatican City. White labels have already been getting heavy rotation in Detroit,
New York and Paris. The Factory Records stable have always given solid support to the Cornershop firmament, & it
was this connection that led to this collaboration.
TIGA 'Sexor'' Release Date 06/02/2006
With a host of hugely recognisable dance hits already under his belt Tiga has been whetting the appetite of the dance
fraternity for the last 3 years. Responsible for crossover dance hits as well as bonafide club classics such as 'Sunglasses
At Night', 'Hot In Herre' and 'Pleasure From The Bass' he has also announced his intentions to the mainstream, whilst
proving the remixer of choice recently with much feted remixes of the likes of LCD Soundsystem, The Kills, Mylo and
Thomas Anderson. Recorded half in Ghent with Stephen and David Dewaele of Soulwax [aka occasional mash-up kings
2 Many DJs], and half in Stockholm with Swedish techno producer Jesper Dahlb?ck, 'Sexor' finds Tiga in spine-tingling
form, singing on every track and for good masure a guest inclusion from Scissor Sister?s Jake Shears on club smash
?You Gonna Want Me?. The album?s foundation song is 'Pleasure From The Bass' and the result as a whole is a hugely
satisfying listen. Album opener and future single '(Far From) Home' sets the tone with its wonderfully unique pop feel and
from there on in the delights come thick and fast from Tiga's take on deep Italo-disco in 'Good As Gold' to cover versions
of Talking Heads' 'Burning Down The House' and Nine Inch Nails' 'Down In It'. 'Brothers' raises the stomp factor with another
hook filled stormer, then there's 'Three Weeks', a beautiful and intensely personal song about love and loss. After years of
excursions and diversions, Tiga has knuckled down, pulled in all his experiences, and crafted a brilliant set. The core
tracklisting of the triple vinyl is the same as the CD version, but cleverly includes extended edit of some tracks, whereas
the CD contains hidden tracks.
ROBERT POLLARD 'From The Compound Eye' Release Date 06/02/2006
When things came to an end with Guided By Voices, Pollard made no secret of the fact that this would not mean the end of
his songwriting and recording career. If anything, it was a new beginning. In leaving behind his main vehicle of expression for
the last 20 years, Pollard freed himself from the expectations of 'the next Guided By Voices record'. This freedom meant
recording when he wanted, what he wanted, with whomever he wanted. The result 'From A Compound Eye' is no less stunning
than anything he has produced thus far in his illustrious career: a collection of 26 brand new songs.
What the press are saying: "Peerless pop nous... veers from multi-track majesty to lo-fi intimacy" - Mojo; "Music seems to come
pouring out of some people: Mozart, the young Rossini, Paul McCartney, Prince and now Robert Pollard" - New York Times.
COLDER 'To The Music' Release Date 06/02/2006

PETER FENTON - NORTH AMERICAN OFFICE Tuesday 24th Jan 2006
Metallica Madness: Hello Dear Esprit Customers,
Few bands have staying power in the collector?s market after 20 years, but Metallica is still going strong.
Among Metallica?s most coveted items are genuine, fully-autographed items from the band. I offer as retail
specimens these boldly signed Some Kind Of Monster
and St. Anger posters,
plus this official 8x10? publicity shot
from   1996. [ For the serious collectors, I submit for your approval these official and completely authentic American RIAA Certified Platinum Record Awards.
First up is this outstanding ?And Justice For All Award,
which celebrates the double-platinum success of their 1988 breakthrough album. In terms of maximum sales potential, Metallica?s
Black Album was a huge success,
as demonstrated by this striking award for sales of 9,000,000 American units sold. This particular award is presented directly to one of Elektra?s distribution
subsidiaries who was directly responsible for regional promotion of that album. Lastly, most desired among top collectors of any musical artist or group are
elaborate, unique awards that celebrate multi-album success, such as this 11-time platinum award for the combined successes of
Load, Re-Load, and Garage, Inc.
If you?ve been eyeing these awards in the recent past, please note that we am now offering them at newly reduced and substantially lower prices in order to make room
for other top-end rarities on the way. So if you?ve been on the fence, act now or resign yourself to allowing these handsome awards to become someone else?s treasured jewels!
On a completely non-related note, I know that most Metallica fans may not care about Pete Burns in the UK Celebrity Big Brother House this week, but I urge the rest of you?

LAURA STONEMAN - ADVANCE UK AND IMPORT RELEASES INFO Monday 23rd Jan 2006
Forthcoming Releases: Today we have added all the details for the inevitable Dead Or Alive re-release, The Brits 2006 DualDisc, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond,
James Blunt and a host of others....
DEAD OR ALIVE 'You Spin Me Round [Like A Record]' Release Date 30/01/06
Currently causing controversy and havoc in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Pete Burns is an undeniable star.
With his own unique sense of style and outspoken manner he has been quickly embraced by the media once
again and is one of the favourites to win the show.
His rising media profile has resulted in a renewed interest in his music, particularly Dead Or Alive's previous
Number One Single [originally released in 1984] 'You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)'. Radio stations including
XFM, Capital and Radio 1, have been playing the record and
it has been spot-played on music TV channels. Both The Sun and Johnny Vaughn [on his Capital Breakfast
show] are running a campaign to get the single re-released. So, due to popular demand, it will be re-released as
a single on the 30th of January ? just a couple of days after the end of Big Brother.
Dead or Alive, now comprising founder members Pete Burns and Steve Coy, have racked up over six million
record sales and no fewer than eight gold, platinum and multi-platinum albums over their career. They are one of
the most innovative, shocking and unique bands the world has ever seen. The vision of outrageous lyrical genius
Pete Burns, his ever-changing style and visual drama have kept him as an icon to legions of fans all over the world
and his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother is sure to win him many many more.
JAMES BLUNT 'Chasing Time - The Bedlam Sessions' Release Date 13/02/06
Everything that makes James such a special talent can be seen and heard on these extraordinary live performances,
filmed before an invited audience at the BBC in November 2005, and on tour in Ireland in December 2005. Whether
solo or backed by a full band, he loses himself in his songs. It is the same quality of intensity captured in his promo
for 'You're Beautiful', included here with his other videos. Between songs, James can be light-hearted and debonair.
When he sings, he is naked.
SANTANA 'Santana III' Release Date 03/04/06
'Santana III: Legacy Edition' is a new, remastered and expanded edition revisits the album that yielded classics such
as 'Everybody's Everything' [featuring Linda Tillery on Background vocals and the Tower of Power Horns] and 'No One
To Depend On' [in both its full length LP version and as a bonus track in its single version] and is described by writer
Jim McCarthy as "A primal masterpiece filled with some of Santana?s finest music".
The bonus second disc comprises the the band?s historic one-hour closing set from the closing night of Bill Graham?s
fillmore West on July 4th 1971, clocking in at 59 minutes with the 11-song concert sequence intact as it was heard
that night. Following the release of Santana III in October 1971, a variety of issues compelled Carlos Santana to dissolve
the band lineup in December; they have been widely analyzed in the years that followed.
NEIL DIAMOND '12 Songs' Release Date 20/2/06
Columbia Records releases '12 Songs', the first new studio album from Neil Diamond in four years, in February 2006. On
its release in the US, the album entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number four - Neil?s highest ever week one album chart
position. One of the year's most heavily-anticipated new releases, '12 Songs' pairs the pop music icon with legendary
producer Rick Rubin. Producing a Neil Diamond album has been a long-time dream for Rubin, whose extraordinary resume
spans the history of hip-hop from LL Cool J to Jay Z, the world of hardcore rock from Slayer to System Of A Down, and the
pantheon of mythic stars from Tom Petty and Donovan to Mick Jagger and Johnny Cash's immortal Grammy-winning
American Recordings series.
"After the first few meetings," writes Neil Diamond in his revelatory liner notes to '12 Songs', "I realized (Rick) loved music in
the same way I did. For both of us it was visceral, passionate and could even be an elevating experience. It turned out that
we served the same mistress - music, and that was to become our first real connection."
According to Neil, "I locked myself in the recording studio with a whole box of number 2 pencils, a big stack of my trusty
yellow legal pads and a funky old three-quarter size Martin Guitar with an E minor chord that could break your heart?.Rick
was determined not to rush the process, but to wait until we got to the essence of the songs I was working on. I loved the
sheer freedom of creating music for its own sake."
"Most of the songs were recorded with Neil playing and singing at the same time," said Rick Rubin in a Rolling Stone article
(9/22/05) profiling the producer, "and it's a different animal. It's taking him back to being more of a singer-songwriter. He really
blows me away."

YASUHIKO YASHIKI - JAPANESE OFFICE Monday 23rd Jan 2006
Madonna Cassette: Recently I bought a miracle item at auction from Japanese shop.
It must be very hot item among not only the collectors, but the editors from Record Collectors magazine (for article)!
It is Cassette format (that?s why this item didn?t see the light of day) and only available advance promo only copies only.
The item has a superb 'art' live picture of Madonna
and includes 8 songs ( 6 x 12? version + 2 x 7? version ? that?s why this item is titled 12?ers + 2 )
of dance versions. The record company called Warner-Pioneer was releasing the series of 12?ers titled mini albums from many of big artists as
Japanese only item then (Phil Collins, Donna Summer ? rare!, London Boys ? not big? and Simply Red etc etc) and they were going to release
Madonna?s too, however this release was cancelled by some reason. I?m going to ship it in next month - let?s hope my boss will not keep it for his collection.

New Year Offerings: Hello Dear Esprit Customers,
January is speeding by at an alarming rate, and records, CDs and memorabilia are flying in and out at record pace. Later this week, look out for ONE copy arriving of Madonna?s
legendary collaboration with photographer Steven Klein, XSTATIC PROCESS, which documents the photo session depicted in the opening video montage of the Reinvention Tour. It?s an amazing,
artistic gem worthy of both Maddy die-hards and serious book collectors. On the autograph front, we?re pleased to offer The Gift
album by The Jam, boldly signed by Bruce, Rick and Paul, each in a different color above their respective photos on the cover. Mary J Blige?s new album The Breakthrough
is another triumphant disc of soon-to-be-classics. To commemorate Mary?s continuing rise, we offer for your approval this brand new, US exclusive live CD EP,
My Collection Of Love Songs. Well, it seems Pete Burns will not win
Celebrity Big Brother in the UK, but has had a good long time to allow his public to reacquaint themselves with his irreverence. Looks like You Spin Me Round will be re-released imminently to
capitalize on Pete?s recent exposure. Here?s your chance to snap up a few of his American rarities before demand peaks! I offer for your perusal this rare American CD single format for the 1989 hit

Psych Love: Hi all,
Tired of all that familiar stuff? U-3? Hanker Chiefs? Coldstuff?
Well, walk with me down the avenues of the esoteric & eclectic ! Apart from being musically magnificent, a lot of the cultural cul-de-sacs of music
remain shrouded in mystery to the majority of the world's collectors (& thus stay cheap !!), so get them before somebody else   finds out what they're missing -
Remember when you couldn't GIVE away a Nick Drake album ? Admittedly, these bands are not what you'd expect to be hit single material but then again -
Hawkwind got on to 'Top Of The Pops' with 'Silvermachine'
in 1972, much to the confusion of the resident 'Wonderful Radio One' DJ - A wonderful FRENCH copy being available here or maybe the rare
'Lord Of Light' German only single with TWO sides
of non-album material - the second side being a nice live version of 'Born To Go' recorded at the same Roundhouse gig as 'Silvermachine'?
Perhaps you need a bit more mainstream ... Let's start gently ... Also waiting for a new home is the magnificent
'Overnite Sensation'
- A Spanish original with all titles listed in Spanish & in fantastic condition or indeed I was lucky enough to find a legendary original Italian pressed
'Mothermania'
with almost every track in a version still unavailable on CD! 2000 saw the 20th Anniversary release of
'Underwater Moonlight'
by the Soft Boys ... get the original with the otherwise unavailable 'Skin It Back' version of 'Old Pervert' here or maybe Robyn's rare '
America' 7" here.
Fast selling out but many still available, an amazing collection of rare prog/psyche compilation LPs which will signpost your way down many more
wonderful roads of discovery (and will also cost you considerably less than the original 7" vinyl from which they   were compiled.)
Interested ? Good. Not Interested ? The Rolling Stones are still touring ...

but there they were, surrounded by a collection of dance vinyl that still needs sorting through. Both titles were out of stock so I was pleased to uncover these,
quite literally out of place in a darkened corner of our warehouse. 1/
The Festival In The Desert CD featuring an exclusive performance of Win My Train Fare Home by Robert Plant with guitarist Justin Adams. Must have been an
amazing 'concert' to attend - who needs a new Wembley stadium when you've got the Sahara desert in which to perform?!
2/ Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man - unplayed, brand new,
MINT condition vinyl   LP of their critically acclaimed Out Of Season album. "Beth Gibbons of Portishead teams up with Paul Webb aka Rustin Man to make what will surely become
one of the albums of 2002". "It's among the best albums ever made" Mojo. "Quietly devastating" **** Uncut. "Bewitching"  ***** Esquire. Both titles are out-of-print, so once
these go, they're gone (until next time, of course!)

SPARKS 'Hello Young Lovers'
Release Date 06/02/06
Never, NEVER, has there been an     auditory assault of such magnitude presented in the realm of pop music. When Sparks? last album 'Lil? Beethoven' hit
the streets critics lauded and applauded, fans smiled smugly with overdue vindication and fellow musicians wept when faced with the reality that,
once again, Sparks had raised the bar by which all other albums should be judged. Now the Angeleno brothers Ron and Russell Mael present 'Hello Young Lovers',
their 20th album. To achieve such enormity and expansiveness Ron and Russell Mael worked in a limitless vacuum for the best part of 18
months. The only inspiration taken from any current music was the provocation to go as far as possible in the opposite direction. When writing and recording
'Lil Beethoven' Sparks broke the rules, but in creating 'Hello Young Lovers' the rule book has been thrown away.

Forthcoming Releases: What a mix I've got for you today including singles from Beth Orton (alongside the new album 'Comfort Of Strangers'), Alex
Parks, Ashlee Simpson, Kubb, El Presidente and T.A.T.U, albums from Scott Walker, Linda Ronstadt, The Open, Buddy
Guy, Deacon Blue and DVD's from Judas Priest, The Highwaymen & Iron Maiden...
BETH ORTON Conceived Release Date 30/01/06
In February 2006, nearly ten years on from   her Platinum-selling debut album 'Trailer Park', Beth Orton
releases her fourth album 'Comfort Of Strangers' and is possibly Beth's most intimate and personal work
to date, and features 14 songs which are at times sad, funny, playful and poignant, romantic, always
lyrical and on occasion even a touch sentimental; and from 'Comfort Of Strangers' that comes her first
single in almost three years on January 30th.
BETH ORTON Comfort Of Strangers Release Date 13/02/06
In February 2006, nearly ten years on from her Platinum-selling debut album 'Trailer Park', Beth Orton releases
her fourth album 'Comfort Of Strangers'.
Recorded over a two week period in New York in the spring of 2005 with producer/collaborator Jim O'Rourke,
'Comfort Of Strangers' is possibly Beth's most intimate and personal work to date, and features 14 songs which
are at times sad, funny, playful and poignant, romantic, always lyrical and on occasion even a touch sentimental.
Indeed, coming after her opening trilogy of albums, 'Comfort of Strangers' represents a total sense of reinvention,
a fabulous alchemy resulting from a set of simple rules that Beth Orton decided for the new CD, which included
only analog recordings, with sparse arrangements and a spontaneous, almost live, feel. In fact it's mostly a 'one
take' CD - two takes maximum, with minimal overdubs.
SCOTT WALKER Climate Of Hunter Release Date 30/01/06
Scott Walker made his name as   one half of the Walker Brothers [who were not brothers, and not called Walker!] in
the mid-Sixties. Although hailing from the US, he found success after moving to the UK and stayed here during his
solo career. A sporadic series of albums followed both as a solo artist and also reunited as the 'brothers'.
1984's 'Climate of Hunter' was his only album of the decade and his only for Virgin Records. It drew critical raves for
a minimalist, trancelike ambience that showed him keeping abreast of cutting-edge '80s rock trends.
This version of the album is digitally remastered for the first time and has the addition of sleevenotes by music journo
and St Etienne member Bob Stanley. Other fans include Julian Cope, Brian Eno and David Bowie.
SCORPIONS The Platinum Collection Release Date 30/01/06
LINDA RONSTADT The Best Of..... Release Date 30/01/06
Linda Ronstadt emerged from the LA folk and country rock scenes to become one of the most popular singers of the
1970?s, selling in excess of 50 million albums worldwide and recording in numerous styles of music, including pop, rock,
country, folk, jazz and opera. Having been part of California?s famed folk band, the Stone Poney?s and recording two
albums with them before going solo in 1968 she had already graced the charts with the top 20 hit Different Drum.
'The Best of Linda Ronstadt' brings together four of her albums, recorded between 1969 and 1974, onto one double disc
collection, as well as including previously unreleased bonus songs and tracks from Live at The Troubadour featuring The
Eagles as backing.
ALEX PARKS Honesty Release Date 23/01/06
'Honesty' is the infectious new single from Alex Parks. An up tempo tune that builds throughout into a big, Sheryl Crowish
rock singalong.
Taken from 'Honesty', her largely self-composed album [with some co-writes by Shakespear's Sister's Marcella Detroit,
Alisha's Attic's Karen Poole and veteran British folkstress Judie Tzuke.] and was recorded mostly in LA with producer Greg
Wells [Rufus Wainwright] Alex says, "Every song on the album is true, and about something that really happened. I got very
emotional making the album. I wanted to call it 'Honesty' because it's all so bare, I felt like I really wanted to show ME!".
ASHLEE SIMPSON Boyfriend Release Date 30/01/06
Ashlee Simpson returns on 30th January with 'Boyfriend', the first single to be taken from her second #1 US album 'I Am Me'.
In less than 18 months Ashlee Simpson has experienced more than some recording artists do in a lifetime; two #1 albums
on the Billboard chart, a reality series which won her millions of fans worldwide and a Hollywood movie role alongside Carrie
Fisher. Now Ashlee returns with her second album 'I Am Me' and new single 'Boyfriend' on 30th Jan.
Pop, but with an edge 'Boyfriend' is a tale of jealousy and feeling on the back foot. As with her 2004 debut album 'Autobiography',
Ashlee has teamed up with producer John Shanks [Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, Melissa Etheridge]. Ashlee co-wrote all the
songs on the album with Shanks and Kara DioGuardi, which explores dark themes side by side with plenty of flamboyant fun.
"Everything has evolved," Ashlee says. "My voice has matured, and so have the situations I've been through."
Her debut 'Autobiography' has sold 4 million copies worldwide, reaching Gold status in the UK, and spawning the Top 5 single
'Pieces Of Me'. Currently performing to sold-out crowds on her US tour, it is clear that on the new album, Ashlee at 21 has left
girlhood behind and has revealed her growth as both singer and songwriter.
THE OPEN 'Statues Release Date 06/02/06
The Open return with 'Statues' the follow up to their massively acclaimed debut album The Silent Hours. Recorded in the south of
France and produced by Rob Kerwin [U2, The Magic Numbers] 'Statues' is a huge leap forward for The Open and is reminiscent of
artists as diverse as Doves, Radiohead and Miles Davis. Packaged in beautiful artwork designed by Vaughn Oliver this is an epic,
ambitious album that is unlike anything you'll hear in 2006.
KUBB Grow Release Date 06/02/06
Kubb get off to a flying start to the New Year with the release of a new single 'Grow', on February 6th and is taken from the band's
debut album 'Mother' - an album that hit an incredible Number 3 on the Amazon pre-order chart, just behind Coldplay, after Kubb's
standout performance on Later... earlier this year.
Following on from the Top 25 success of their second single 'Wicked Soul' last month; Kubb, led by the inimitable Harry Collier, have
spent weeks on the road as support to Starsailor and with some of their biggest headline dates yet [including a packed Scala gig in
London], winning the hearts of critics and fans alike and picking up many-an-accolade along the way.
T.A.T.U Friend Or Foe Release Date 06/02/06
The most exciting and controversial pop duo ever are back with the second single from their new album 'Dangerous And Moving' on
6th February. 'Friend Or Foe' is an awesome, twisted, Abba-tinged pop smash!
The video is all over the music channels and features amazing performance footage with a piano solo by Julia halfway through.
EL PRESIDENTE Turn This Thing Around Release Date 06/02/06
BUDDY GUY Bring Them On Release Date 23/01/06
Any discussion of Buddy Guy invariably involves a recitation of his colossal musical resume and hard earned accolades. He?s a
Rock?n?Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a chief guitar influence to rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray
Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago?s fabled West Side Sound and a living link to that city?s halcyon days of electric blues.
One of the most respected and lauded blues artists of our time; Buddy Guy is the greatest exponent of classic Chicago electric
blues. He is a thrillingly inventive guitarist, a passionately soulful singer and a peerless showman. In the course of a 45-year
professional career, he has sold millions of albums, earned five Grammy Awards and won nineteen W.C. handy Blues Awards -
more than any other single artist.
This brand new album focuses on Buddy?s unique renditions of classic material culled in part from the Stax and Hi Records catalogue.
Both labels were hugely influential Memphis labels that boasted many of the era?s [60-70?
The album includes some special guests - John Mayer, Carlos Santana, Keith Richards, Anthony Hamilton and Keb Mo?. The band
comprises all-star session players Steve Jordan [drums], Willie Weeks [bass], Danny Kortchmar [guitar] and Bernie Worrell [keyboards].
DEACON BLUE Raintown Release Date 27/02/06
'Raintown', originally released in 1987, launched the career of Deacon Blue. This classic debut album instantly set them apart from
their peers by mixing chart friendly pop sensibilities with thought provoking and complex lyrics. Themes of unemployment, wealth
and the work ethic perfectly encapsulated the key issues of the mid eighties and helped the band connect with a diverse and
appreciative audience? All this and a song about a dingy called Dignity!
'Diginity', 'Loaded' and 'Chocolate Girl' were all great singles in there own right, but like all classic albums Raintown has to be listened
to as a whole to understand why it meant, and means, so much to Deacon Blue fans. From the beautifully paired down intro of 'Born In
A Storm' through the bombastic uplifting chorus of 'Loaded', to the albums painfully emotive closing track 'Town To Be Blamed',
'Raintown' really is an album to be enjoyed in one sitting, particularly now it has been upgraded for the very first time!
THE HIGHWAYMEN Live Release Date 13/01/06
In 1984, they collaborated on the album Highwayman. Never before had such legends of country music gathered for an album of this
calibre. With the release of their second album 'Highwayman 2', these living legends embarked on an historic tour.
Between them, they are responsible for many of the biggest hits in country music history. In 'Highwaymen Live' they accompany each
other in 25 classic performances filmed in March 1990 at Long Island?s Nassau Coliseum, plus share candid thoughts and anecdotes
about each other and their music.
IRON MAIDEN Death On The Road Release Date 06/02/06
Iron Maiden have now announced the release date of their much anticipated DVD release Death On The Road for 6th February 2006.
The DVD package contains the full performance of their 'Dance of Death Tour' in December 2003. Filmed at the Westenfalenhalle Arena,
Dortmund the show has been personally edited by founder band member Steve Harris, to fully capture the magnificent stage production
and to cut right to the heart and the electricity of the bands' performance. Over a four month period Steve made thousands of edits, thus
ensuring he was personally happy with every single shot included!
To ensure top quality and to avoid any compromise in reproducing the very best possible sound and picture quality, the band have taken
the unprecedented step of making the full concert available on two separate discs ? one with full traditional stereo soundtrack and the
other with specially mixed 5.1 sound by Kevin "Caveman" Shirley ? which along with the special features disc makes three discs in all.
The special features disc contains an exclusive documentary directed by Matthew Amos who also directed the bands? award winning ?Early
Days? documentary. It's an insight into the production of the ?Dance of Death? album from its writing and recording through to the detail in
what it takes to get a massive show like Maiden on the road. Previously they'd never allowed any of this to be filmed but this time decided
to have a camera floating around to try and capture the Maiden recording process.
As usual we have crammed as much as possible into the DVD with a host of extras including all of the promo videos from the album,
background interviews with members of the production crew and fans during the tour, artwork, design sketches and photo galleries. Many
hours of Maiden mayhem with a total running time of over three hours ? and that's just the special features".
ROD STEWART If We Fall In Love Tonight Release Date 30/01/06

JUDAS PRIEST Rising In The East Release Date 30/01/06
After more than 12 years apart Judas Priest and original lead vocalist Rob Halford reunited for a global live concert tour in 2004. They
were a main attraction on the sell-out Ozzfest tour playing to enormous and enthusiastic audiences nationwide. Judas Priest have had
12 Top 40 albums in the UK, 5 of which have been Top 20, the biggest selling of which was British Steel which was in the charts for 17
weeks. In 2005 the definitive Judas Priest line-up of Rob Halford, lead guitarist Glenn Tipton, lead guitarist K.K. Downing, bassist Ian Hill

Shadow Of Light / Archive is a clear reminder of the power of Bauhaus on stage, built from long out of print material which
shows the band from the beginning. 'Shadow Of Light / Archive' contains the original Bauhaus promotional videos and live
performances recorded at the Old Vic Theatre, London in 1982. The two programs were originally released on [long out-of-print]
VHS tapes. The quality of the live footage is a little grainy, mostly due to the equipment at the time and the low levels of
Bauhaus' stage lighting. With the band once again touring their incendiary live show, this DVD is a reminder of how it was in
the beginning.

SUICIDE One Day - Live At La Loco / Paris Release Date 30/01/06
Legendary 1970s NYC electro-rock duo Suicide has had a profound influence not only in the synth-pop bands of the 80?s [Soft Cell,
Erasure, Bronski Beat, Yaz] but also in the '90s with the rise of industrial dance music [Revolting Cocks, Ministry, 1000 Homo DJs,
etc.]. It is not surprising then that Suicide is still present today in the rock scene.
Suicide, an archetypical underground band, play live regularly their concerts being a validation for those who had never seen them live.
Vindicated by half of the English an American new wave scene in the eighties Suicide continued their career away from the media.
Surprisingly as it may seem there is no audiovisual material available. This is the reason why Suicide members Martin Rev and Alan
Vega found it interesting to immortalize their Parisian concert at La Loco in January 2005. Big audience, sumptuous illumination,
powerful sound and the ardor of this two electro pioneers are present in this DVD. Combining old and new tracks SUICIDE gives a
large overview of their live potential. The duo works perfectly, complicity is at the rendez vous, you can see it, you can touch it.
Throughout 57 minutes Suicide captivates the audience that raises their arms, scream as if Suicide were the last sensation?

JENNY LEWIS with THE WATSON TWINS 'Rabbit Fur Coat'
Release Date 23/01/06
Known and loved by many as the enchanting front-woman for LA?s critically lauded Rilo Kiley, Jenny's vocal and songwriting gifts
have continued to blossom at a rapid rate since that band?s first album in 2000.
'Rabbit Fur Coat' may be her solo debut, but there?s nothing virginal about it. From the opening track 'Run Devil Run' to the closing
reprise of 'Happy' Jenny?s hauntingly soulful voice, sometimes bursting with buoyant spirit and at other times plaintive and world
wearied, is deep, sensual and beguiling. The album was lovingly crafted together during short spurts of recording activity in the San
Fernando Valley, Portland, Oregon and Lincoln, Nebraska - due to the shared production duties of celebrated finger-picking guitar
prodigy M.Ward and Nebraska?s resident production genius Mike Mogis. The magnificent backing vocals come courtesy of gospel
singers Chandra and Leigh Watson (The Watson Twins). Talented friends were roped in between tours and recording sessions and
stand-out track - a cover of The Travelling Wilbury's 'Handle With Care' - with its phenomenal sing-a-long crescendo - features vocals
shared equally by Jenny, M.Ward, Conor Oberst [of Bright Eyes] and Ben Gibbard [of the Postal Service & Death Cab For Cutie].
DEICIDE 'When London Burns'
Release Date 23/01/06
JOHN MARTYN 'Live At Leeds & More'
Release Date 23/01/06
Glaswegian John Martyn has been labelled 'awkward' 'difficult' and 'cantankerous' at various stages of his career - but it is this refusal
to compromise and tow the line that has resulted in some of his finest music, including this very album. 'Live At Leeds' was released
in 1975 after Martyn had fallen out with his record label Island - and in protest at their industry practices, was distributed by mail order
from the artist?s own Sussex home, thus rendering original vinyl copies highly collectable. Now, on CD, we can enjoy the performance
in all its unadulterated glory, and revel in the sheer venom with which he and his band attack 'I'd Rather Be The Devil', 'Solid Air', 'Bless
The Weather', 'Outside In', 'Mailman' and others. The band is, of course, the other reason why this album is so historically important,
as this is the only known live recording of Martyn's work with the seminal lineup that featured jazzers John Stevens and Danny Thompson
alongside former Free axe-god Paul Kossoff, who died shortly after. Appended to this classic release is a second disc, comprised of
some of the best of Martyn?s live recordings from the late 70s onwards. Next to classics like 'Big Muff' and 'Looking On' we get his highly
personalised readings of Judy Garland's 'Over The Rainbow' and Allen Toussaint's 'Yes We Can' [most famous as a hit for the Pointer
Sisters], as well as several tunes from the tour undertaken to promote his superb 1997 album 'And?'.
The voice, the guitar playing, the lyricism, the refusal to be tied down to either folk, blues, jazz or rock- all of these go some way to making
the enigma that is John Martyn, and they are all demonstrated amply on these recordings.
NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL 'On Avery Island'
Release Date 16/01/06
Part of the fabled Elephant 6 collective Neutral Milk Hotel won over many a music critic with this cult classic released in 1996. The band
are recognized as one of the most influencial alternative acts to come out of the mid-90s and sowed the seeds for everything from anti-folk
to the likes of Arcade Fire, Caribou and even Franz Ferdinand.
This album ranked #35 in the annual Village Voice Jazz & Pop Critics' Poll. Also, Spin proclaimed this album one of the ten best "you
didn't hear" of 1996. A brand new 'deluxe' collection edition will be available in March next year at the bands own request.
COLIN BLUNSTONE 'Greatest Hits / The Light Inside'
Release Date 23/01/06
Colin Blunstone is the kind of musician about whom people speak in hushed, reverential tones- the very same tones in which the great
man sings. His extraordinary career since the mid-60s has seen him front the legendary Zombies, lend his unique whispering tonsils to
the Alan Parsons Project, briefly change his name to Neil McArthur, release a series of highly acclaimed and individual solo albums,
score hits with covers of soul classics and finally end up fronting the Zombies again!!This ?Greatest Hits? compilation spans the entire
breadth of that career, and includes new interpretations, recorded especially for the album in 1990, of songs that no true music lover can
afford to be without- from the early R?n?B [in the proper sense of the term, of course] stylings of ?Tell Her No? and ?She?s Not There? through
the more psychedelic strains of ?Time Of The Season? to the wistful, pastoral beauty of ?I Don?t Believe In Miracles? [composed by Argent
frontman Russ Ballard] and ?Say You Don?t Mind? [written by Denny Laine]. These last two were originally hits for Colin: so were his versions
of ?What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted? and ?Tracks Of My Tears?, which also get the full treatment here. Rounding things off nicely is the
?98 version of ?She?s Not There? which brings our hero full circle. As a bonus for Blunstone fans, we have added his criminally overlooked 1998
album ?The Light Inside?, unusual in that it is largely written by the man himself [with contributions from 80s pop wiz Nik Kershaw, noted
songwriters Jess Bailey and Phil Dennys, and Cockney Rebel/Kate Bush drummer Stuart Elliott] Particularly poignant is the fact that this
was the last ever album by any artist to feature the drumming of Cozy Powell.
GOODBYE MR MACKENZIE 'Hammer And Tongs'
Release Date 23/01/06
Calling all Garbage Fans!!!
Formed in Bathgate in 1984 band were led by Martin Metcalfe [vocalist/guitarist] alongside Rhona Scobie [keyboards] Chuck Parker [Bass]
Derek Kelly [Drummer] and two backing vocalists Hilary Mclean, and one SHIRLEY MANSON.
Their second single 'The Rattler' [1986] recorded for the Precious label saw the band receive some attention from the music press and it
reached an impressive No 8 in the Indie Chart. In 1988 they also added to their line up Big John Duncan [formerly of hardcore punks The
Exploited] on guitar, and Fin Wilson on bass. Three singles 'Goodbye Mr Mackenzie', 'Open your Arms' and the re-recorded 'Rattler' preceded
their debut album 'Good Deeds and Dirty Rags'.
The recording of their second album 'Hammer and Tongs' took place in Berlin at the end of 1989 and when it was released in 1991 it made the
Top 75 album chart.

version and a cover of 'Candy Says'.

Good To See You Again was filmed at concerts in Dallas [April 28] and Houston [April 29] during Alice Cooper?s ground-breaking concert
tour in 1973 in support of the Billion Dollar Babies album. Combining full length tracks from the extraordinary live show (featuring snakes,
a guillotine, chopping up babies and necrophilia!) with specially filmed sections following a typically bizarre plotline, the movie was released
in cinemas in 1974. This DVD has been produced from the original 35mm print and the 5.1 surround sound has been created from the original
16 track masters.

MANTRONIX 'Mantronix'
Release Date 30/01/06
Formed by now legendary New York producer Kurtis Mantronik and MC Tee, Mantronix are still known as one of the best and most innovative
groups from hip-hops golden age. Mantronix were probably the first group to popularise samples as pop hooks, although their music actually
crossed the boundaries of hardcore rap, electro, techno and house, their music has inspired artists around the world.
Their first single 'Fresh Is The Word', hit the streets of New York in 1985 courtesy of Sleeping Bag Records. The track had the streets and clubs
of New York pumping with its raw beats and East Coast rapping that draws comparisons to Run DMC and LL Cool J. Their second single 'Ladies',
featured a smoother vocal sound than 'Fresh Is The Word', and the third single followed just a few months later 'Bassline', is another slice of typical
mid-80?s hip-hop with it?s raw beats and energetic rapping, and reached the UK top 40 in May 1986.
With its futuristic production 'Mantronix: The Album' was way ahead of it?s time when released in 1985 and featured all of their hit singles and some
of the rawest hip hop ever released. Now the album has been remastered and features 5 extra tracks - different versions of three of their key tracks.
This album is Mantronix best and an essential album for any hip hop fan.
