This unique piece would surely rank as the jewel in the crown of any Oasis collection.
The overlaying tracing paper sheet has been annotated with changes plus three post-it notes.
The tracklisting for the album had tracks five & ten blank, with other blanks for 'Text To Be Inserted' - Referred to in the first post-it.
The front of the album art is in colour with the album title but the band logo is blank - This is referred to in the second post-it saying that the logo should be in two base colours with solid black.
There is an additional post-it referring to the grainy green/black style for the booklet pictures saying that 'Noel is insistant - HE DOES NOT LIKE SEPIA TONE !!!'. When the CD came out, these were in black & white, not greeny/black, so I guess Noel got his way.
There are annotations on the tracking paper overlay referring to the borders on the artwork. The first, crossed out, appears to read 'fu Pord InPoax !' but I'm sure it's something else - I suspect a shorthand for 'Black Bordered Inlay'. This has been replavced by another annotation reading 'NOTE - REVISED ALL BORDERS MUST HAVE WHITE OUTLINE' - The commercial release had black borders.
The whole item consists of twelve 4½" square layouts for the CD & booklet pages with the original photo art laid onto a hand drawn template on a foam/card back board & is an absolute one-off.
The letter of authenticity comes from Christies South Kensington Limited.
An incredible item that we have never had before & will never have again !
