Recorded by club manager and saxophonist Dave Quarin, these recordings document Pepper in an intimate club setting with pianist Chris Gage, bassist Tony Clitheroe and drummer George Ursan. The recordings are presented as they occurred, preserving announcements, tape changes and even incomplete performances where reels ran out. The result is over four hours of previously unissued live material. Restored and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Michael Graves, the audio has been carefully unified to maintain the atmosphere of the room despite shifts in microphone placement across the nights.
