With its heavy blues influence, “Skid” features extended guitar solos and emotive vocals, with Moore's bluesy guitar work taking center stage and showcasing his immense talent early in his career. The album also incorporates hard rock elements, with strong rhythms and powerful riffs adding a heavier edge to the sound. The combination of bluesy improvisation and hard rock energy gives the album a compelling and distinctive vibe for its time. Many of the tracks on “Skid” are built around improvisation, which was a hallmark of the band’s live performances.
