BONNIE BRAMLETT / MUSCLE SHOALS RHYTHM SECTION /
STAPLE SINGERS It Came From Memphis (Eight 5" by 4" pages
from an autograph book that was part of an extensive
collection obtained by the wife of a former Assistant Tour
Manager for Eric Clapton. Well known and a personal friend of
many of the stars that she collected autographs from, she had
unprecedented access to backstage areas and VIP Events that
enabled her to amass a vast collection of autographs with
consequent impeccable provenance. These particular
autographs were obtained on 9th April 2005 at the Barbican in
London on a special Muscle Shoals themed night and are nice
unhurried examples, featuring the signatures of Larry Byrum,
Clayton Ivey, George Soulé, David Hood, Spooner Oldham,
Jimmy Johnson & Larry John Wilson of Muscle Shoals, Mavis &
Yvonne Stapes, along with Bonnie Bramlett, who has dedicated
& doodled on her sheet)

Signatures were obtained by Yuki Smythe-Park. For many years Yuki's husband Colin, was Eric Clapton's assistant tour manager, working on many of his 1980s concerts & tours. On August 26th 1990, Clapton played the Alpine Valley Music Theatre, Wisconsin, alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. Following the show Colin Smythe, along with Clapton's agent Bobby Brooks, his bodyguard Nigel Browne and Stevie Ray Vaughan boarded a helicopter bound for Chicago. Tragically, the helicopter crashed shortly after take-off, killing all on board. Yuki was friends with many artists from that era and continued to attend gigs and fill her numerous autograph books. These signatures were obtained in person by Yuki.
