Kent (Rolfe Kent's original soundtrack to <I>Sideways</I>
returns to the LP format, pressed on <span
style="color:#6E1F2F"><b>Claret Vinyl</b></span> -
clearly someone didn't get the memoabout Pinot Noir being
burgundy! Originally released in 2015, this much-requested
repress brings Kent's jazz-inflected score back to vinyl,
matching the film's wine-country setting with a warm,
understated musical character. Alexander Payne's
<I>Sideways</I> became one of the surprise cinema
successes of 2004, following two disillusioned
forty-somethings on a wine-fuelled road trip through
California. Kent's soundtrack is central to the film's blend of
comedy, melancholy and mid-life uncertainty, with pieces
such as "Asphalt Groovin'", "Wine Safari", "Miles' Theme",
"Los Olivos" and "Miles And Maya" capturing the film's dry
