TRAFFIC Shoot Out At The Fantasy Factory (2021 UK/EU 5-track LP, remastered and pressed on 180-gram black vinyl. Originally released in 1973, Shoot Out At The Fantasy Factory arrived in the wake of The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys and presented a leaner five-track structure shaped by extended arrangements and fluid musicianship. While contemporary press reaction was mixed, tracks such as "Evening Blue" and "(Sometimes I Feel So) Uninspired" have since emerged as key moments in the band's catalogue, reflecting both their improvisational reach and melodic restraint. The album reached No.6 on the US Billboard Pop Albums chart, surpassing the peak position of its predecessor. Recorded with members of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section - bassist David Hood, drummer Roger Hawkins, keyboardist Barry Beckett and guitarist Jimmy Johnson - the sessions added a distinctive Southern rhythmic depth. Hood and Hawkins perform throughout and were credited as band members on the original sleeve, while Beckett and Johnson appear on "Tragic Magic". This edition is reissued individually from the 2019 Traffic - The Studio Albums 1967-74 box set. Picture sleeve with hype sticker, factory sealed). |
