Originally released in 1978 and produced by Johnny Winter, I'm Ready followed the acclaimed Hard Againand marked a late-career high point for Muddy Waters. Featuring contributions from "Pinetop" Perkins on piano and Walter Horton on harmonica, the album captures Waters' seasoned vocal authority across reworkedstandards and new material. The album received the Grammy Award for Best Ethnic or Traditional Folk Recording and remains a defining chapter in his later catalogue.
