Released in April 1977, The Clash remains one of the most vital and explosive debut albums in rock history - a fierce statement of intent from a band that would go on to redefine punk and influence generations. Raw, politically charged, and sonically fearless, it captured the restless spirit of Britain in the late'70s while fusing hard-charging punk energy with flashes of reggae and rock 'n' roll rebellion. The album features classics such as "White Riot," "I'm So Bored With the U.S.A.," "Career Opportunities," "London's Burning," and the searing cover of "Police & Thieves." Frontman Joe Strummer's passionate snarl and Mick Jones' cutting guitars powered a sound that was both furious and intelligent - punk with purpose.
