Released to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, the classic album has been remixed for the first time by Giles Martin with Sam Okell, sourced directly from the original four-track & eight-track session tapes, guided by the album's original stereo mix produced by his father, George Martin.
This comprehensive, individually numbered Seven disc collection comprises the new 2018 stereo album mix across two discs, with a third disc containing the twenty seven original demos which were recorded during the last week of May 1968 at George’s house in Esher, Surrey & and Three discs featuring FIFTY additional recordings, most previously unreleased, from 'White Album' studio sessions, all newly mixed from the four-track and eight-track session tapes, sequenced in order of their recording start dates.
The set also includes a Blu-Ray disc containing the 2018 album mix in high resolution PCM stereo, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, Dolby True HD 5.1 and a direct transfer of the album’s original mono mix.
All seven discs sit inside individual mini-LP card wallet sleeves replicating the original album artwork, together with the fold-out poster, portrait photos, an extensive hardback book, housed in an individually numbered slip sleeved 164 page hardback book, with pull-out reproductions of the original album's four colour portrait photographs of John, Paul, George and Ringo, as well as the album’s large fold-out poster with a photo collage on one side and lyrics on the other.
The beautiful book is illustrated with rare photographs, reproductions of handwritten and notated lyrics, previously unpublished photos of recording sheets and tape boxes, and reproduced original ‘White Album’ print ads.
