History :-
Recorded at Abbey Road and one of Britain's very first rock concept albums, telling the story of Sebastian F. Sorrow from cradle to grave.
Working with noted EMI staff producer Norman "Hurricane" Smith (who had engineered the earlier Beatles recordings and produced Pink Floyd's The Piper at the Gates of Dawn) and house engineer Peter Mew, The Pretty Things created one of the great, lasting Psychedelic LPs, following in the vein of The Beatles. The group experimented with the latest sound technology, including the Mellotron and early electronic tone generators, often employing gadgets and techniques devised on the spot by Abbey Road's technicians. The results continue to fascinate to this day.

issue of the classic British Psych 1968 13-track Stereo LP on the
black & silver Odeon label and pressed on 'Ever Clean' <FONT
COLOR ="#FF0000"><B>Wine Red Vinyl</B></FONT>, within
a back pasted heavy card sleeve with Japanese insert. The sleeve
displays some minor general wear with some heavy ringwear
which has caused a spot of paper loss on the front and a fair
amount of discolouration and scuffing to the edges & small split
to the open edge. The insert has some fair amount of
handwritten annotations from a previous owner, some
corrections to badly translated text and album titles, sleeve &
insert graded as very good. The vinyl easily reaches the Excellent
grade, the labels have some light spindle marks otherwise very
clean, whilst the vinyl has just a couple of very light cosmetic
scuffs, which do not upset play. Although not mint, this is still a
really respectable copy of this incredibly hard to find Japanese
pressing, and the first we have ever seen OP-8640) ){kind=spacer}
