runs from the maestro's early Cotton Club days through to the genius
of the Blanton-Webster years of theforties, all-star jams & famous gig
recordings such as the Sacred Concert series, the album masterpiece
'Far East Suite' & much more, with special mention to the rich sound
quality of this package &, of course, star players of the Orchestra such
as Cootie Williams, Johnny Hodges, Paul Gonsalves & Billy Strayhorn.
Each CD is housed in a custom picture wallet, with all discs presented
in a 11" square & 2" deep fabric box with an accompanying 128-page
full-colour book overflowing with wonderful photos, exhaustive session
information & insightful essays that explore Ellington from every
possible angle. This set remains in near mint condition & comes highly
