Sleeve:
The sleeve is printed & made by Garrod & Lofthouse with secure round ended flipbacks which bear both the 'Patents Pending' text & '6809' date of manufacture.
The inner is the EMI red tint advert inner, correct & common to the period.
The sleeve shows some natural creasing in the laminate as well as some mild ring wear & ageing starting to show around the edges, as to expected after 48 years.
The flipbacks are secure, all text is legible & there are no tears or writing. The colours remain rich & vivid & the spine looks & reads just fine.
Labels:
The Matrices in the run off area both end -1.
The labels are the familiar yellow on black Parlophone label with 'Gramophone Co' perimeter text & 'Sold In The UK' credit.
The labels are still bright & clean & free from any writing. The 'KT' tax code is evident on side two.
Vinyl:
The vinyl has been professionally cleaned & play tested. Visually there are a number of faint paper scuffs & the odd light scratch, none of which have any impact on the sound. On a mono setting & thanks to the heavyweight vinyl & quality pressing of the period, what marks there are are rendered merely cosmetic in nature & do not interfere with play or the sonics of the music.
Far from mint, this is still a wonderful VG-/VG copy of this rare & historic mono debut that is always highly competitve on the online market. Original copies are now very hard to obtain!
