Background
This peculiar album paired both sides of the first two Vee-Jay Beatles singles with eight Frank Ifield tracks which, despite the cover promise, were all studio recordings. Quite apart from the huge number of returns that Vee-Jay had from record dealers, resulting in this album becoming very rare indeed, it was also the only album release of From Me To You until the '1962-1966' compilation double in 1973. Perhaps the returns had something to do with the text on the back slick; 'It is with good deal of pride and pleasure that this copulation has been presented'
Condition
Remarkably, the sleeve on this copy is free of splits or writing, with a readable [just] spine. There is a fair amount of edge scuffing evident and a degree of shelfwear commensurate with its age but nothing more other than a small area of paper loss on the back slick, presumably from a historic sticker long ago.
The vinyl remains in VG+/EX- condition with just light surface scuffs and hairlines to show for nearly fifty five years. There are a few spindle marks around the centre hole, but not to excess and the album plays through without fault with just a little surface noise evident. A very acceptable, if not mint, copy of this hard to find album.
