As mentioned in the main description there are passes for different tours between 2002-2004 and includes:
2002 'Driving USA' Tour
The five passes for this tour all feature the same design and includes 'VIP'circular, 'TV' Oval, 'WORKING PERSONNEL' Rectangular, 'PHOTO' Triangular and Octagonal [which is a general use pass]. Each featuring a colour image of Paul holding his guitar leaping out of a car on a white background, there is a small 'MPL' logo at the top with 'Paul McCartney' black & gold foil text across the middle along with tour name and pass type text all on a orange background except for the Octagonal pass which is pink - each pass also has a blank space for a name/ID to written.
2002 'Back In The U.S.' Tour
The pass for this tour features a similar design to the above, included in this set is an Oval design for 'LOAD OUT' personnel, featuring a colour image of Paul holding his guitar leaping over a wall with a 'Stars & Stripes' US flag in the background. There is a small 'MPL' logo at the top with 'Paul McCartney' gold foil text across the middle along with tour name and pass type text all on a purple background plus a blank space for a name/ID to written.
2004 '04 Summer' Tour
The two passes from this tour feature an image of Paul wearing a suit and pointing with the jacket tinted a different colour, both are Rectangular and for 'WORKING PERSONNEL' with a peach & blue coloured. Across the top id a great area with 'Paul McCartney' light grey text and '04 Summer' grey text plus 'Working Personell' white text with a blank space atthe bottom for a name/ID to be written.
Each pass retains the original peelable backing with the manufacturer 'Otto' logo and address details on the back, confirming these to be genuine passes.
Information On Passes
The passes would have been custom manufactured on adhesive backed rayon acetate satin cloth with a removable paper backing, the early versions simply had a plain backing but soon started to have the manufatures name/logo and sometimes the address printed.
Bands touring multiple cities and large venues had their passes printed on large sheets, with layouts featuring multiple designs including different colour combinations plus details for different tour staff and areas of access.
Only a few are then cut into the different shapes so that there is no waste. Usually at the end there some printing overruns, set-up sheets, color test prints, printer's proof sheets, and discarded misprints which are usaually destroyed but some do survive and are very rare and are highly collectable.
