Despite signing to Mickie Mosts record label in 1980 and having numerous top ten hits in 1981, including the smashes Chequered Love and Kids In America. Kim did not do any live performances prior to this European Tour of 1982.
The reasons behind this decision remain a mystery - the demand was certainly there! The tour started in the Denmark in order for Kim to become more polished before hitting the UK with her show.
With each of the acts he promoted, once a successful tour was over, Mel would commission a commemorative plaque or mirror as a souvenir of the event. Usually these would be presented to the artist, with an additional one kept in his own personal archive. This item has remained in the archive for 26 years but now that Mel is semi-retired, he has decided to part with his treasured archive of mirrors and plaques and we have been enlisted to help him find good homes for his collection. Each item from the archive will be accompanied by a signed letter from Mel detailing its origins and confirming its authenticity.
The mirror is a landscape design measuring 33" x 23" including the frame. It features the artist name printed in red (on black) in the top left hand portion of the piece. Below this are all the tour dates for the 1982 European Tour. The right hand side of the mirror is dominated by a stunning large full colour picture of Kim.
An effective design that is certainly eye-catching and remains in perfect condition having been preserved in bubblewrap in the Mel Bush archive since it was commissioned.
