This album was released on 13th August 1965, and stayed at number one in the U.S. for 9 weeks.
Once again, the American version of Help! differed radically to it's UK counterpart with just the songs from the film included along with incidental music from the soundtrack. The entire selection as featured on the UK album ended up being spread over four US releases, Beatles VI, Help, Rubber Soul and Yesterday And Today. The incidental music by the Ken Thorne orchestra was not released in the UK.
Interestingly, the semaphore that the Beatles are happily signalling on the cover is actually N-V-U-J, not H-E-L-P. That was probably rejected as a film title after the photos were taken by Robert Freeman when they obviously then found that writing a song with that title was a bit tricky ...
This album is in amazing condition with just one small dent in the spine to show for its forty years and that is so light as to be almost insignificant, but is mentioned for the sake of completeness.
All edges & corners are completely sealed in the original tight shrinkwrap with two small breather holes on the front - a staggering investment grade item!
