Released in August 1964, this rare issue was one of the first post Beatlemania LPs to include recordings from the Beatles' 1961 Hamburg recording sessions with Bert Kaempfert, backing vocalist Tony Sheridan.
Surprisingly, there is no reference to The Beatles whatsoever on the sleeve, even in the detailed biography of Tony Sheridan printed on the reverse - the band are are only credited on the A-side label!
This copy was sourced from a French radio station library, and as such has a 'Discotheque RTL' stamp and a handwritten reference number on the back of the sleeve. There is also some additional writing which has been partially removed and some scuffing to the edges - mainly to the spine, which has a number of small nicks in it, although the text is still legible. The colour cover photograph is bright, unfaded and richly toned, and the print on the reverse remains sharp.
The original poly-lined inner with care instructions in four languages is included!
Despite being over 40 years old the vinyl is simply stunning - it looks barely played with a beautiful 'just pressed' lustre
The matrix numbers in the 'dead wax' areas on both sides are machine stamped with 'Made in Germany' text and are as follows:
Side One - 46440 A G4-H B
Side Two - 46440 B G4-H C
Both labels are beautifully clean save for a small, faint mark where the library inventory label was attached. They have German perimeter text and are free from spindle wear!
A hard to find, almost secret, piece of Beatles history!
