The Photos :-
1. Full colour - Approx 11" x 15" framed.
This features a shot of George in Sunglasses with John in profile talking to him with a cigarette in his mouth. By the looks of things, this was taken at West Malling Airfield in 1967 during the making of Magical Mystery Tour.
2. Black & White - Approx 11" x 15" framed.
This features a full length picture of George overlooking Ringo & Paul, who are both sitting in director's chairs. Ringo actually has George's guitar & is playing it! From the Beatle suits & shoes, I suspect this was taken some time in late 1964. Location unknown.
3. Black & White - Approx 11" x 11" framed.
A great candid shot of John, Paul, George & Jimmy Nicholl sitting on a desk at or after a press conference. This has to be June 1964. Location unknown.
4. Black & White - Approx 10" x 15½" framed.
A great candid shot of John & George sitting on chairs rehearsing, possibly at a TV studio or venue. This appears to be from late 1963 or early 1964. Location unknown.
5. Full colour - Approx 15" x 10½" framed.
This features a candid shot of Ringo, George & John in red coats on horses during the making of the 'Strawberry Fields' promotional film at Knowle Park, Sevenoaks, Kent in 1967. As you will all know, this was about the time the Mr Kite poster was discovered by John in a local shop.
6. Full colour - Approx 14" x 10½" framed.
This features a candid shot of Ringo, Paul, George & John in their psychedelic finery filming the 'I Am The Walrus' segment of the Magical Mystery Tour film. This was taken at West Malling Airfield in 1967. Sadly, the immense concrete blast bays and indeed, the airfield, now lay under a housing estate ...
7. Full colour - Approx 14" x 10½" framed.
As above, but a distance shot.
8. Black & White - Approx 10½" x 15" framed.
A great candid shot of Ringo in ski attire & 'Ringo Cap' with Victor Spinetti in Guards uniform. Ringo is standing against a white screen. The combination of Ringo in ski boots & Victor in Busby is a strange one, but it would certainly have been taken during the making of 'Help!'. Location unknown.
9. Black & White - Approx 11" x 15½" framed.
This features a full length picture of George sitting in a chair with his back to the camera, reading a magazine & toatsing his toes by an electric bar heater. From the look of things, I suspect this was taken some time in late 1964. Location unknown.
10. Black & White - Approx 11" x 11½" framed.
A great candid shot of John & Yoko entering the EMI recording studios at Abbey Road. John is wearing a white suit with collar length hair, so I suspect late 1968.
Condition :-
These are all professionally card mounted in 15½ x 19½ white card frames and were used for the book launch exhibition. The frames actually hinge open and are not sealed, so the photos could be re-mounted if desired. Each photograph is an expensive professional quality enlargement on Fuji glossy photographic paper.
The John & Yoko photo [#10] exhibits some light scuffs, but the others are in fantastic near 'as new' condition.
A Fantastic set, printed as a one-off for the exhibition & never available for retail purchase !!
