IRON MAIDEN Twilight Zone (Every now and again we do find
something which is simply the Holy Grail in record collecting, and this
is just one you simply cannot miss out on. Unbelievably rare 1981 UK
double A-side 7" single with picture labels and intact four prong
centre, also including Wrathchild, so far so good right? Well this
example is the legendary mispressed version on light Brown vinyl. There are literally only
a handful of copies known tohave been pressed, now regarded as one
of the rarest & hardest to find Maiden items, complete with the paper
picture sleeve featuring the great Derek Riggs artworks

Iron Maiden Twilight Zone - Mispress Brown Vinyl UK 7" vinyl single (7 inch record / 45)
|
Tracklisting / Additional Info: |
History & Details Released on the 2nd March 1981, this was the groups fourth single and first to feature guitarist Adrian Smith, recorded during the period leading up to the second album, Killers, but wasn't included on the album at the time, actually released a month after & in the middle of the band's UK tour.
This single was released on the standard black, red and clear vinyl, with both the coloured edition being very collectable. However this mispress has a legendary status and is as collectable and sought after as the Soundhouse Tapes
This mispress occurred when changing the pressing plates from the Red to clear vinyl, the result being, a few having a mixture of the two and ending up with this brown almost muddy effect, very spooky just like the lyrics of the song.
The picture sleeve features the classic early Derek Riggs image of Eddie in the mirror reaching out to Charlotte [yes, from Charlotte The Harlot], who is clearly mourning for her lost love.
Condition Late 70's early 80s paper picture sleeves tend to be manufactured from thin, fragile stock paper and do manage to pick up wear very easily, however this example shows minimal wear and is possibly one of the best examples we have seen.
The vinyl show very little, if any, signs of play with no spindle marks to the labels, the matrix details are as follows:- EMI 5145 A-2 EMI 5145 B-1U
Both stamped with 'Townhouse' clearly readable.
This is a must have item, in an incredible condition, one sure not to be missed.
