Mary Hopkin - Quelli Erano Giorni/Turn Turn Turn (Apple 2) Jackie Lomax - Sour Milk Sea/The Eagle Laughs At You (Apple 3) The Ivys - Maybe Tomorrow/And Her Daddy's A Millionaire (Apple 5) The Beatles - In Questo Disco, Una Sensazionale Intervista Con John, Ringo, Paul & George.
The vinyl singles all have large jukebox style centres. The Jackie Lomax, Mary Hopkin and Ivys singles all have regular green Apple labels, but the Beatles interview has a white label with a black boxed 'Apple' logo text.
The Beatles Interview was conducted by Kenny Everret in August 1968, side one contains part 1 which lasts 3:30, side two contains part 2 which lasts 3:52 The interview begins with John singing 'Cottonfields' and ends with the whole band singing 'Goodbye' to Kenny Everret with much fun in between.
Housed in unique quad fold picture sleeve featuring a large Apple (sliced and unsliced) design on the front side and on the other side, top left is a picture of Paul McCartney with Mary Hopkin, top right is George Harrison with Jackie Lomax, bottom left is an Apple logo with The Ivys text and bottom right is a picture of the Beatles. The sleeve is designed so that the 7" singles fits into the relevant picture pocket. At the top of the picture sleeve when opened there are two eyelets with green plastic cord through them which would have been used to display the item in a shop.
CONDITION
The 7" singles are in excellent condition with only a couple of light hairline marks which do not affect play, very unusual as Italian records particularly Beatles records are usually found in very poor condition.
The Beatles interview disc is the only one with any exclusive content to this set it is nice that it should be in great condition.
The fold out picture sleeve is fragile and by design is very flawed in that there is room for movement within the picture pockets so when found these sleeves are normally split down the sides, however luckily the edges on this copy show only a little shelfwear and all remain free of rips or tears.
The horizontal and vertical centre folds are showing signs of age having been opened and refolded time after time, however it shows just some creasing and a tiny hole to its centre but is not ripped or torn as is so often the case with this item. The front side of the sleeve is showing just light ringwear and scuffing from storage but remains bright and free from writing and other blemishes.
The inside of the fold-out sleeve is also in fine condition with just a little yellowing and light creasing through the years of being stored folded, this does not detract from the overall beauty of the piece with the pictures unblemished and the internal pockets all intact, over forty years old and free from writing, rips and tears, almost miraculous considering the country of origin!
A wonderful copy of one of the Beatles highly sought after foreign rarities!
