Background :-
Although the Italian albums appear to be almost equally scarce and often found in less than Good condition, the Beatles in Italy album is highly sought-after. In its original pressing, the cover is gatefold, showing the Beatles on stage. The album is not a "live" album, instead featuring a collection of various non-LP tracks. Because of its scarcity, it has been highly counterfeited.
This album was only available in MONO until the 1968 reissues. It was first issued with a red label, these are almost impossible to find having a similar scarcity value as a UK black and gold Parlophone label Please Please Me.
The Matrix Numbers are machine stamped, they are as follows
Side One YX 9009 1
Side Two YX 9010 1
The date 13 7 65 has also been machine stamped into the dead vinyl.
The condition of Italian records generally is less than than those from the UK, US or other European Countries, but collectors are usually prepared to accept inferior quality items due to the scarcity of these unique Italian LPs.
The condition of this vinyl is staggering! From the opening of Long Tall Sally to the end of I Feel Fine, the audio quality is amazing. The album plays with no skips, jumps, crackle or background noise.
Visually the album is almost perfect. Even under close scrutiny only a couple light hairline marks are noticeable, but as previously stated these are inaudible.
The sleeve is rarely found in such great condition, it has undamaged edges and shows only the lightest of shelfwear.
