Background
Although the Italian albums appear to be almost equally scarce and often found in less than Good condition, the Beatles in Italy album is highly sought-after. In its original pressing, the cover is gatefold, showing the Beatles on stage. The album is not a "live" album, instead featuring a collection of various non-LP tracks. Because of its scarcity, it has been highly counterfeited.
This album was only available in MONO until the 1968 reissues. It was first issued with a red label, these are almost impossible to find having a similar scarcity value as a UK black and gold Parlophone label Please Please Me.
In mid 1965 "Parlophon" (Notice the missing 'e') began issuing all their albums with a silver a black label. In 1968 the albums were reissued on a "Parlophone" (with 'e') label not Apple as many other countries did. The cover for Beatles In Italy changed, only the first 2 issues have the unique gatefold picture sleeve. Now to condition.....
The labels are matt black finish with bright silver "Parlophon" logo and tracklisting also in silver. There are no discernible marks around the spindlehole on either side, signifying very little play and a careful owner!
The Matrix Numbers are machine stamped, they are as follows

The date 13 7 65 has also been machine stamped into the dead vinyl.
The condition of Italian records generally is less than than those from the UK, US or other European Countries, but collectors are usually prepared to accept inferior quality items due to the scarcity of these unique Italian LPs.
The condition of this vinyl is staggering! Having played it for grading purposes I can say that this is without doubt the best copy of this album you will ever find with no need to upgrade. From the opening of Long Tall Sally to the end of I Feel Fine, the audio quality is amazing. The album plays with no skips, jumps, crackle or background noise.
Visually the album is almost perfect. Even under close scrutiny only a couple light hairline marks are noticeable, but as previously stated these are inaudible.
The sleeve is similar in design to the UK album Beatles For Sale in that the opening for the record to be removed is inside the gatefold, making the opening fragile and susceptable to tears. The picture sleeve is unique to Italy and is laminated back and front (not inside) It shows the band live on stage on the front and a great picture of the band toasting with Champagne on the back.
The sleeve is rarely found in such great condition, it has secure internal flipbacks, undamaged edges and pinched spine with only minor scuffing, clearly legible spine print with only minor creasing along the inside of the gatefold, along the spine.
This is without doubt the finest example of The Beatles In Italy any collector is likely to find, a must have!
