This was the penultimate concert of the 'Merseybeat Showcases', the last being in Guildford on the 21st June. This programme was printed EXCLUSIVELY for these two shows, meaning that there were far fewer of them printed than for the longer tours such as The Roy Orbison/Beatles tour where the same programme was used for the entire tour.
The Beatles topped the bill, however also appearing were Gerry & The Pacemakers, Billy J Kramer & The Dakotas & The Vikings.
As previously mentioned the condition is amazing. Despite it's age the pages remain almost white with just enough age 'yellowing' to confirm that this is a genuine sixties programme and not a clever reproduction! It also comes with great provenance in that we obtained from the original owner who as a 15 year old girl helped scream the place down before lovingly preserving the programme with accompanying ticket stub.
The ticket stub is green in colour and measures apporx 2½" x 1", it has no creases, rips or tears and details that the attendee sat in the 2nd row of the dress circle for the 6pm (1st) performance.
A real gem in any collection!
