The Beatles Introducing The Beatles - Version Two US vinyl LP album (LP record)

Background
This was the first Beatles album released in America, with the version two of the album very quickly following version one into the shops. The reason for the two versions of the album was that Beechwood Music took out an injunction against Vee-Jay because they didn't have the rights to issue the tracks that had previously appeared on the 'Love Me Do' single. Vee-Jay consequently had to re-tool the album to remove the offending two tracks, which were replaced by 'Please Please Me' and 'Ask Me Why'. As it turned out, this was probably a better track selection for the album anyway. This change was executed in January 1964 & the 'Version Two' album was back in the shops by the 10th of February. In the end, this album eventually sold 1.3 million of the Mono & nearly 42,000 of the Stereo LP versions. Sales of the 'Version One' amounted to 79,000 Mono & 1,000 Stereo. It can be seen at a glance that the ratio of Stereo to Mono was still very small, even in the United States.
Condition & Specifics
The Sleeve
This is the second variant of the Version Two Mono sleeve with a comma in 'Please, Please Me' on the rear slick & a small '2' just after the word 'RECORDS' at the bottom. The condition is very pleasing indeed, with just a little light shelfwear evident. The front & rear show minimal discolouration, with just a small bit of light edge scuffing to the bottom seam. There are no splits & there is no writing anywhere, the back slick remains mostly white & a clearly readable spine is evident.
The Vinyl
This matches the sleeve in being the second variant of the Version Two release. The labels are the colourband type with the Vee-Jay logo in white & bracketed above the silver text. The labels have corrected the 'Coffin-King' credit to 'Chains'. These labels still have the 'LONG PLAYING' & 'MICROGROOVE' credits that were dropped soon afterwards. For those of an interested disposition, this is the fourth label variant of the second variant of the second variant of the album - Got that ? The multitude of label configurations that this album came with defy belief, certainly not for the feint hearted!
All information in the run off areas of the vinyl is scratched, nothing stamped.
The matrices read as follows:
Side One: 63-3402-1 Side Two: 63-3403-1
In addition, there is a date of 2-11-64 on side one. Both sides of the record have 'ARC' [the pressing plant] and '4-21-4', suggesting that this particular variant was from April 1964. There are also the initials 'URJ' on both sides.
The condition of this is again, very pleasing. The fact that I am now going to be able to list the surface hairlines for you should tell you how good this is.
On side one, there is a very light one across tracks three & four. On side two, there is one very light one across tracks four, five & six, with another tiny one across track one. What else there is can be attributed to paper scuffs, although the surface hairlines are in themselves very light and have no effect on the audio.
The album has obviously been extremely well looked after, with no obvious spindle marks around the centre hole and the vinyl retaining its original sheen.
You would be hard pressed to find one of this quality again in a hurry. A gem.
