beat160 USA Created Sun 4th Jun '06 20:42 (GMT) Edited Sun 4th Jun '06 20:42 (GMT) Edited 3 times Question to EIL: I am a tried and true Beatles fan from way back. I have a collection of original mint to mint minus albums and cds, all original, and THEY ARE FOR SALE AS A COLLECTION. Way to much to go into at this forum. I f you are interested in this collection I have a site all set up for your viewing pleasure. E-mail me at mrevolution65@aol.com, and lets talk. This collection is a gem, contains all original releases, limited editions, picture discs, interview albums, box sets, colored vinyl, rare albums and cds, all the solo albums, plus a very large collection of unreleased material that would make the Anthology project look like childs play. This collection was put together by myself over a 35 year period. Its time to sell and move on with my life, so I will part with it for the right price. This collection also includes radio shows, promos, 12 inch singles, and albums and cds from all over the world, if your a Beatles fan, you should see this collection. This collection is one of the most complete you will find. I worked in radio here in Detroit for over 20 years at various classic rock stations, and this collection has been used to produce local, and national Beatles shows and specials. You must see this collection to believe it. You can view this collection at www.beatlescollection.com[reply to this topic ]

Dancer the unknown, kent UNITED KINGDOM Created Tue 18th Apr '06 15:28 (GMT)Re: THE BEATLES Hummer (Rare US novelty Beatles 'Hummer'. For the
uninformed, a hummer is musical instrument made from cardboard,
produced by Louis F Dow Company circa 1965. It measures 11" x 1/2"
diameter. This great item features a large picture ofthe Fab Four with
facsimile autographs. As you can imagine being 40 years old an made
of cardboard, these items are usually found in terrible condition,
however this one has been preserved in beautiful condition with bright
colours and none of the obvious flaws such as crushing, staining & blemishes - a real gem!)View this product

bruce AUSTRALIA Created Thu 13th Apr '06 22:31 (GMT)different pressings depending on the definition of "7th pressing". Naturally the original tape source would have been used, however it may have been played back on a newer (better) quality tape machine, the cutting lathe may have been newer (better), the engineer may have tweeked the playback/cutting to make the sound slightly better (in his opionion) and the plating process at the factory may have been different. Later pressings may have been cut to copper instead of laquer which again reduced the plating process at the factory and improves the quality of the sound. SO "yes: there will be differences, but the hearing is all in the ear of the hearer. Get an early pressing and compare against the latter pressing. Make up your own mind which sounds best to you. May people prefer the vinyl the CD, so it is in the ear of the listener.[reply to this topic ]

1963 UK 14-track stereo LP on the black & yellow Parlophone label

'Recording First Published' text. The Garrod & Lofthouse front
laminated flipback sleeve has the small solid 'stereo' logo top right
and a red tinted company advert inner and vintage Dobells sticker to
the reverse. The sleeve is superb with minimal sign of wear, whilst the
vinyl is equally impressive with just a little spindle wear to show for its

Beatlemaniac USA Created Sat 8th Apr '06 22:56 (GMT)Beatle V. 2 I just got my copy of "The Capitol Albums Volume 2." The first thing I noticed is that the packaging has been improved. The longbox is of a thicker stock of cardboard. When you pull out the tray, the CDs don't fall out and hit the floor like they did with Volume 1. Instead, you fold the tray at the middle and remove the CDs. And the CD jackets look great. They are sharp and do not have that brownish color that was present on the CD jackets in Volume 1. They even have the album titles on the spine. I wish that Help! had a gatefold cover, but it's no big deal. After all, I still have my original album from 1965! The labels look really cool. It is the classic Capitol rainbow label from the sixties. The information, font and spacing perfectly mimic the original 1965 Scranton labels. Someone obviously was paying attention to detail. The booklet is a real treat. It is very colorful and has some pictures of the Beatles I have never seen before. The essay by Bruce Spizer is informative and easy to read. As for the discs themselves, they sound great. I particularly enjoy listening to the stereo version of Rubber Soul with the severe mix of vocals on one side and instruments on the other. That's the way I heard those songs back in the sixties. My British CD has the 1987 George Martin remix with the centered vocals. It's great to finally get the 1965 stereo mixes on CD. Yeah it's a drag that the mono versions of Beatles VI and Rubber Soul are stereo-to-mono mixdowns, but they still sound good to me. Because I'm a purist, I will obtain the corrected discs from Capitol. After all, I don't want to hear a false start guitar intro on the mono version of Rubber Soul. But that won't stop me from enjoying the CDs now. And it's my understanding that I will get to keep the discs with the wrong mono mixes. That's kinda cool. While some people may trash Capitol for this box set, I for one am grateful that Capitol was able to convince Apple to allow its release. I am also appreciative that Capitol/EMI/Apple listened to complaints about the packaging for Volume 1 and took steps to improve it. It's nice to know that record companies actually care about what the consumer thinks. While it's a shame that there was a glitch with the mono mixes on two of the discs, The N...[reply to this topic ]

SoulMan UNITED KINGDOM Created Sun 26th Mar '06 21:36 (GMT)Beatles on a budget... It's great that EIL stock such a vast product range - sure I'd love to own a £5000+ piece of memorabilia or even a £500 item but my modest budget means I can't afford them so I'll happily keep buying great £10 to £50 items to feed my Beatles obsession - keep up the good work, the site rules. *[reply to this topic ]

SoulMan UNITED KINGDOM Created Sun 26th Mar '06 21:31 (GMT) Edited Sun 26th Mar '06 21:31 (GMT)Great price but for hardcore fans only! I bought this when it first came out. I remember the movies coming up for auction and knew it wouldn't be long before someone put out a dvd, but I was disappointed that the total running time was only 105 minutes over 4 dvds - this would have fit on one dvd! To be honest the content was a little boring - like watching someones silent holiday footage but having Paul McCartney wandering in and out of shot occasionally - for die hard fans only*[reply to this topic ]
