The fourth studio album, first
released in 1971 and now reissued with a new mix by
producer David Singleton. His Elemental Mix series has been
one of the highlights of the King Crimson 50th anniversary
CD/Blu-ray editions to date, using the full spectrum of
available studio sessions for each album to produce very
different takes on familiar songs and
pieces.

Singleton describes the Elemental Mix
approach as one that often finds hints of alternative routes
that were never followed, allowing the listener to perceive the
familiar in an unfamiliar way and presenting the pieces not in
a 'perfect mix', but unadorned, as they would have been had
you been sitting in the studio. For this album, that meant
exploring what 'Formentera Lady' might sound like had it
begun not with the cello but with a piano fantasia from
Keith Tippett.

Cut by Jason
Mitchell at Loud Mastering and manufactured at Vinyl Factory,
London. Recommended.
)
