This example is Issue No. 16, distributed during a particularly significant period in the band's career following the enormous success of Violator and its accompanying world tour. Produced in limited quantities solely for fan club subscribers, the Bong fanzines offered fans exclusive access to band news, interviews,photographs, tour information and behind-the-scenes material unavailable through the mainstream music press, making surviving copies increasingly desirable amongst Depeche Mode collectors. Often retained as treasured keepsakes by dedicated fans, complete original issues are becoming ever harder to find over three decades on, particularly in well-preserved condition.
