Originally produced by Steve Lillywhite and engineered by Hugh Padgham, the 1979 release marked a pivotal point for the band with Dave Gregory joining on guitar, reshaping XTC into a twin-guitar line-up. Combining angular post-punk energy with sharp pop sensibilities, Drums And Wires contains some of the group's most enduring material, including the breakthrough single "Making Plans For Nigel." Wilson's mix brings fresh clarity to the band's inventive arrangements and dynamic performances.
