The print is in pristine condition with no rips or tears and has been stored rolled from new all this time.
Erotic # 5 was originally part of the 'Bag One' suite of fourteen lithographs drawn by John Lennon and exhibited by Lee Nordness Galleries in New York between February 7th & 28th 1970. The original full set was given to Yoko as a present to celebrate their marriage and subsequent honeymoon in Amsterdam.
The exhibition caused a great deal of controversy during its London visit, with prints confiscated by Scotland Yard on the grounds that the work was deemed pornographic. John was later exonerated by the British courts, but many of the prints were mishandled and never returned to the Lennons. These lithographs are on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and are now highly sought after by not just Beatles but art collectors around the globe.
The Lithograph was pulled on BFK Rives paper at The Bank Street Atelier Ltd in New York. The edition was limited to 300 examples, with each print individually signed by John Lennon and numbered 1 to 300.
