Originally released in 1967, Something Else By The Kinks marked a stylistic shift as the band moved away from hardrock into a more pastoral, folk-pop sound. Ray Davies' songwriting explored everyday English life with wit and poignancy, blending acoustic textures, harpsichords and rich harmonies. Though a commercial underperformer at the time, the album has since been recognised as a bold artistic landmark.
