KIM GORDON The Collective (2024 Matador Records limited edition 11-track LP pressed on Coke Bottle Green Vinyl - Kim Gordon returns with her critically acclaimed second solo album recorded in her native LosAngeles with producer Justin Raisen. Includes the wonderfully titled track Psychedelic Orgasm - and who doesn't want one of those! Picture sleeve with hype sticker, factory sealed)

Tracklisting: The Collective follows her 2019 full-length debut No Home Record and continues her collaboration with producer Justin Raisen (Lil Yachty, John Cale, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Charli XCX, Yves Tumor), with additional production from Anthony Paul Lopez. The album was inspired in part by Jennifer Egan's 2022 novel The Candy House. The album advances their joint world building, with Raisen's damaged, blown out dub and trap constructions playing the foil to Gordon's intuitive word collages and hooky mantras, which conjure communication, commercial sublimation and sensory overload. Justin Raisen sent Gordon several instrumental tracks, over which Gordon sang vocals and added distortion effects. Gordon also said that she wanted the album to be "more beat-oriented" than her last album. Record Collector's Jeremy Allen wrote that on The Collective, "the needle flickers high into the red with layer upon layer of digital distortion and some of the filthiest beats known to man".
