CRESSIDA Cressida (Monster rare & never before stocked 1970 first UK issue 12-track stereo vinyl LP debut, on the large swirl label with 'Vertigo' print & 'A Philips Record Product' lettering below the centre hole, gatefold matt picture sleeve with die-cut 'swirl' poly inner. The vinyl appears in stunning near MINT condition. See 'more info' for further details... VO7)

Tracklisting: 1. To Play Your Little Game 2. Winter Is Coming Again 3. Time For Bed 4. Cressida 5. Home & Where I Long To Be 6. Depression 7. One Of A Group 8. Lights In My Mind 9. The Only Earthman In Town 10. Spring '69 11. Down Down 12. Tomorrow Is A Whole New Day This is a very low mileage example acquired from one fastidious owner of a collection of mouthwatering Rock, Prog & Psych gems, all bought from new on release during his teenage years. To find this record at all is becoming nigh on impossible. This is the first time we've stocked it or even seen one! The gatefold sleeve has a matt finish with all text clearly legible & the artwork unblemished & stunning looking. There are a couple of small horizontal thumbnail tears at the back opening from handling but these are no more than 1" & not seen from the front. The sleeve is otherwise in Excellent condition with no other blemishes. The matrices in the run-outs are machine stamped thus: 847904 1Y//1>420 1 1 3 847904 2Y//1>420 1 1 7 The labels show no spindle marks & are 'as new'. The vinyl itself is clean & appears just as it would have the day of purchase. Truly remarkable! An investment grade item; but don't hold your breath on us finding another one of these any time soon!....
CRESSIDA Asylum (Monster Rare 1971 UK first press 8-track vinyl LP, on a large 'swirl' Vertigo label. This cult Art Rock classic offers a blend of McCartney-esque vocals & Symphonic Progressive Rock filled with adventurous instrumental sections, & comes housed in a stunning Keef designed gatefold sleeve complete with the poly-lined swirl inner)
**See More Info For Further Details**

Tracklisting: Cressida's Asylum is a fantastic example of early British symphonic Progressive Rock. It marries catchy Paul McCartney-esque vocals with adventurous instrumental sections. Superb vocal melodies regarded as some of the best from the Prog era coupled with charmingly naive lyrics The instrumental sections have its origins in the style typical of early seventies Prog Rock with the music driven by a dirty & mellow Hammond organ with classic piano, bass, guitar & drums. At times this sound was augmented with a small orchestra with violins, cellos, trumpets & timpani. The first side of the album has a theme based on its title with the second side featuring a couple of short filler tracks ending with a triumphant epic. Widely regarded as the best album to come out of that school of early British symphonic Prog. This is beautiful, melancholic and mostly mellow & atmospheric. There is quite simply a British charm that blends its morose charm with lovely orchestral Mellotron sounds that appear throughout the album. If three words could describe this album then they would graceful, sublime & classic. 1. Asylum 2. Munich 3. Goodbye Post Office Tower Goodbye 4. Survivor 5. Reprieved 6. Lisa 7. Summer Weekend Of A Lifetime 8. Let Them Come When They Will Condition :- This record does not get any easier to find & is one we constantly search for but barely ever see. Due to its matt finish, the gatefold sleeve has picked up some edge wear scuffing through the years but nothing that upsets the main print. There are a some minor cosmetic blemishes in a few areas. On the inside, there is a small & thin line tear that does not upset the print. There is some faint ring wear to the back panel & no writing. Some sticker residue has left its mark on the front in the top right corner. The swirl inner is present & correct with no writing. Overall we would grade the cover VG due to the conditions highlighted, but it remains a very presentable & a VERY hard to obtain example. Labels: - These are the first & most desirable large 'swirl' labels with machine stamped 1Y1/2Y1 matrices in the run-offs. There is just a tiny spot of spindle wear to indicate play. Vinyl : - The quality of the vinyl is outstanding. Upon play testing, there is no distortion or any interference. The vinyl is very clean & impressive looking, with no hairlines or scratches. We would grade the vinyl an extremely pleasing "Excellent". This LP now fetches a four figure sum when mint [good luck finding one of them!]... This is a beautiful, if not mint, example that comes highly recommended.
CRESSIDA Cressida (Mega rare debut 1970 Italian original 12-track LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label with 'Made In Italy' perimeter label print & Philips machine stamped matrices including the 'p.1970' date in the run-offs, housed in a UK manufactured front laminated gatefold picture sleeve with company inner. This wonderful Prog album features the most beautiful & atmospheric Hammond organ sound you could imagine! This is a clean one previous owner example. The sleeve shows only the lig

CRESSIDA Asylum (2007 Korean limited edition 8-track LP pressed on CLEAR VINYL; originally released in 1971, Cressida's 2nd album has attained legendary status, not only as one of the rarest LPs on the [equally] legendary Vertigo label, but also by nature of its content, offering symphonic progressive rock, pitching superb vocal melodies against solid instrumentation! Presented in high quality gatefold sleeve with Korean language insert, repro 'swirl' label
