Originally released in 1958 Miles Davis' creation of the soundtrack to Louis Malle's film noir Ascenseur pour l'Échafaud remains one of his finest albums — and one of the only jazz soundtracks that was entirely improvised. Starring Miles Davis, Barney Wilen, Rene Urtreger, Pierre Michelot and Kenny Clarke, recorded in Paris, Le Poste Parisien, December 4/5 1957. Celebrating the centenary of Miles Davis, Decca France presents this beautiful limited edition deluxe reissue, remastered from the original analog tapes and including an illustrated booklet with album notes by Franck Bergerot abd Ashley Kahn.
